The news comes from Twitter, where a fan publicly asked the company if Cyberpunk 2077 would include free DLC in the same vein as The Witcher 3. CD Projekt Red quickly responded via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, posting an irrefutably unambiguous “Oh Yeah” Kool-Aid GIF. Check out the exchange below. It’s worth noting that this doesn’t mean the game won’t feature paid DLC as well. The Witcher 3 received two huge expansions after launch - Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine - that were certainly cheap, but definitely not free. On the contrary, the free DLC packs for The Witcher 3 encompassed alternate cosmetics for certain characters, or added new contracts such as the “Missing Miners” mission. So, although CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have free DLC, it will likely appear in the form of different outfits for Jackie, or an extra side quest to take on during your second playthrough. More sizable expansions will almost inevitably launch as paid DLC. In related news, CD Projekt Red recently told VG247 that it is not 100% happy with melee combat in Cyberpunk 2077, and is actively working on trying to fix it. We’ve also learned lots of other interesting tidbits about the game - for example, “there is always a way to go without killing anyone,” meaning that pacifist runs are possible for those who would rather eschew violence for diplomacy and/or subterfuge. On top of that, you can actually finish Cyberpunk 2077 without completing the main quest.
