During its EA Play Live 2020 showcase, EA provided a quick look at what BioWare, Criterion, DICE, and Motive are working on. While EA didn’t come right out and say the BioWare game teased in the clip was Dragon Age 4, the studio is working on the next entry in the series, and it does look rather Dragon Age-y. Dragon Age 4, or whatever BioWare ends up actually calling it, is still a ways off as EA doesn’t plan to release it until after its fiscal 2022, which ends in March 2022. It could even be an early 2023 release as far as we know, which would put it in a next-gen release category. The game was first teased with a Dread Wolf Rises teaser released at the Game Awards 2018.
A look at the next Need for Speed was also teased, and it showed some nice looking cars, something Criterion Games is known for. Like the BioWare title, not much was shown, but what you are able to see looks rather impressive from a car enthusiast standpoint. Yes, we like cars, real and virtual.
What could be an early rendering of the next Battlefield game was shown off as well. It was gey-boxed, but still, provided a look at many, many soldiers on what we assume is a battlefield. We’re not getting a new Battlefield this year, instead, you can expect it to arrive during EA’s FY2022, which runs between April 2021 and March 2022. It was said tonight the developer was “creating epic battles at a scale and fidelity” as you have never seen before. Motive’s new project was also shown, but not much of it. What we did see was a character flying around using a jet pack of sorts, and having the ability to move objects with some sort of gun. Hit up the video below around the 44-minute mark to see all of this for yourself.
