Players now have answers to one of the biggest mysteries in the PS5 remake of Demon’s Souls. Since the game’s launch on November 12, people have been trying to figure out what is behind a brand new door in Bluepoint’s remake of the From Software’s 2009 cult classic. Luckily, Souls speedrunner Distortion2 has been hard at work since release trying to find a way to access this new area. The prevailing theory suggested that the Ceramic Coin in Demon’s Souls - itself a new item - might be related to the mysterious door....

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood was re-revealed back in 2019 and got a cinematic trailer earlier this year, too, where it was reiterated the game would be joining Vampire: The Masquerade as a part of the grimdark Classic World of Darkness universe. This new trailer gives us perhaps our most in-depth look at the game to date, showing off some proper gameplay for the title. Cyanide game director Julien Desourteaux shows off the three forms you can take throughout the game: human, wolf and Crinos (which is somewhere in the middle)....

During a stream today, Blizzard announced a beta for the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion will kick off next week. According to the stream, beta invites will be out soon, with more coming throughout the summer. In order to be considered, make sure you have opted-in. The beta is feature-complete, but there is more work ahead, and the level cap will be set at 60. Microsoft has officially launched the Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) beta on PC. Available through the Xbox app on Windows, the beta is running in 22 countries. You’ll need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, but you also need to be an insider. This is sort of an expansion to the beta from back in April, where xCloud was available on PCs thorough web browsers. Using the Xbox app would be the better option, considering it’s what PC players already use to download and manage Game Pass games....

The term JRPG will generally elicit a response of ‘oh, this game is gonna be big’ in most people. But big can mean different things, like how long the game actually is, or the amount of side quests there are. For Xenoblade Chronicles 3, that comes in the form of the world being essentially five times bigger than the previous entry, at least according to one of the game’s directors, Koh Kojima....

Rockstar has revealed the weekly bonuses in Red Dead Online. For starters, posse creation fees are being waived until June 8. This means anyone can create a posse permanently without having to pay for it. For the Collector role, players will get 50% more when they sell the Arrowheads or Bird Eggs Collector Sets to Madam Nazar. Moonshiners are also getting a 30% boost on sales all week. For the more practical-minded, a number of useful items like Pamphlets and Provisions are on sale this week for up to 50% off....

The mysterious space-exploration adventure previously released on Xbox One, PC and PS4, and now Annapurna has its eyes set on Nintendo’s hybrid handheld/home console. As part of its first quarter earnings for FY22, 2K Games parent company, Take-Two, has announced that it will be revealing a new franchise sometime this month. Take-Two didn’t say which 2K Games studio will be making it, but it did say that it will be released this fiscal year, meaning at some point between now and the end of March 2022. Fans have been guessing that this is the rumoured Marvel XCOM game from Firaxis, a project everyone expected to see at E3 or thereabouts, based on some of the reports....

A 9 Monkeys of Shaolin demo is now available on Steam ahead of its release later this month. There is also a demo available on the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store. The Steam demo includes the first chapter of the campaign and can be played in both single-player and co-op. C0-op can be played online, or through local two-player split-screen (thanks, Blue). In the game, you play as a fisherman names Wei Cheng, who is out to avenge the death of your friends and family who killed during a pirate raid on your village....

Nine years after the launch of Pokémon TCG Online (an app that’s often been afflicted with UI issues and compatibility woes) the new Pokémon TCG Live is due to replace the aging app. TCG Live will let you play online on across PC, Mac, Android and iOS – similarly to its predecessor – and it will use the same digital codes to purchases from the real world to the app (so don’t worry about your hard-earned IRL boosters not being compatible with the app)....

A Total War Saga: Troy was claimed by 7.5 million players within the first 24 hours of its release. The massive amount of downloads was driven by a time-limited free giveaway on the Epic Game Store. “We were optimistic but we couldn’t have predicted this level of excitement,” said Rob Bartholomew, chief product officer. “It’s been incredible to work with Epic on giving this brand new release away for free....

Activision has seemingly began building a team to create a version of Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile. A since-removed job listing (via Charlie Intel) revealed that the company is after an executive producer who’s going to oversee the game’s transition to mobile devices. Initially, the job appears to be tangentially related to Warzone. The page had WZM as a code for the job, for instance, which could be referring to Warzone mobile....

AI-generated art has probably been all over your timelines recently, clearly being the next big trend in the world of tech, so it’s no surprise that this is extending to AI audio and music. And as spotted by Exputer, Activision has recently published a new patent that involves “systems and methods for dynamically generating and modulating music based on gaming events, player profiles and/ or player reactions.” Let’s layout what this means roughly: say you’re in a match of your favourite Activision developed, multiplayer title, like a Call of Duty game for example!...

Dead by Daylight was in receipt of its first Resident Evil chapter in summer of last year. The introduction of fan favourites, Nemesis, Leon Kennedy, and Jill Valentine, saw the game reach its highest player count yet on Steam. Obviously having realised exactly what fans are eager for, Behaviour Interactive announced a second Resident Evil chapter during its sixth-anniversary stream in May, 2022. May doesn’t seem all that long ago, but the wait for details of the second chapter, coined Project W, has been agonising....

First revealed back in June, Aliens: Dark Descent is a new single-player action game set to launch in 2023 from Tindalos Interactive and Focus Entertainment, but no gameplay was shown at the time. Now, although only briefly, we’ve had our first look at the squad-based shooter in action. The trailer shows the top-down game in action, where you “take your squad of marines on missions as you infiltrate and investigate the Xenomorph outbreak....
