Neither definitive version has received an official announcement so far, but eagle-eyed Twitter user Nibellion has linked to the website of the ratings board where both games have been registered by Take-Two Asia for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The individual trademarks list the publisher as 2K Games, with Mafia 3 developer Hangar 13 working on the project. Rumors of a Mafia 2 remaster have been swirling since publisher Take-Two Interactive registered three seperate trademarks last year....

This is the second year running in which Microsoft has fallen short of its target. The company initially planned for a 72.8% growth rate for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. However, Microsoft was only able to achieve a 28% growth rate instead. Microsoft did exceed the planned growth rate in 2020, but 2021 and 2022 have been less than successful when it comes to hitting its target for the service....

The news comes from a report published by The Information. According to said report, Microsoft has expressed interest in purchasing the games division of Warner Bros., likely to bolster its Xbox line-up ahead of next-gen. Warner Bros. is currently owned by AT&T, but the multinational corporate giant is considering parting ways with Warner Bros. in order to help alleviate its $154 billion debt. The anonymous sources who spoke with The Information confirmed that other potential financial suitors include Take Two Interactive, EA, and Activision Blizzard....

YouTuber Fundy has posted a video of a stream in which be plays Minecraft in Minecraft. What sort of sorcery he used, we have no idea, but yes, he made the entirety of the game playable inside the game. Check it out. Minecraft developer Mojang has announced that The Nether update will arrive on Tuesday, June 23. The update will be made available on both Bedrock, as well as the classic Java version. The Nether is one of Minecraft’s biggest updates. Its main addition is how it allows the Nether areas to actually have a purpose. The update will introduce biomes to the Nether, as well as NPCs. This will make venturing there more interesting than it currently is....

If you’ve been following FromSoftware’s work, you should be very familiar with the Dark Souls 2 downgrade debacle. When the game was originally introduced, the developer showed an impressive, next-gen lighting system. Dark areas were supposed to be a major component of gameplay, with players having to equip a torch just to be able to navigate them. That impressive lighting engine sadly didn’t end up making it into the final game, but fans have always wondered if someday, a new FromSoftware game would be a able to replicate it....

And that date is January 12. While that seems like a long ways off, it’s really not because that’s just three months away. Plus, to hold you over until then, Capcom will release a demo for the game on Steam beginning on October 13. The demo will provide you with numerous hunting options, including offline solo and online multiplayer for up to four players. You will also be able to use 14 weapon types....

Followers and Follower Quests provide single-player only missions that see you heading into battle accompanied by NPCs from the world of Rise. As part of today’s Monster Hunter Rise developer livestream, Capcom finally announced when the game’s free demo will be going live. The Rise demo arrives tomorrow, January 8 on the Switch eShop (~1.6GB). The demo will be available to download later today at midnight PT, 3am ET, 8am UK (January 8). You’ll only be able to play it until February 1, when it will go offline at those same times....

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne released on PC last night. Although the launch has been relatively smooth so far, some players ran into a major problem. Upon starting the game, Monster Hunter World does a save file check. When this happens, some players received an error message letting them know that “no compatible save was found.” If you continue along, the game will create a new save file, immediately deleting the old....

The Safi’jiva Siege is coming to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on PC, three months after it debuted on consoles. As with the console version, you will earn new armor and Awakened versions of weapons. You will need to have your weapons appraised, and will be able to choose three to keep. One will match the type you currently have equipped, and each will start with the same base stats but feature different elements....

NeatherRealm added new characters to the game in November 2020 with Kombat Pack 2 – when Rambo, Mileena, and Rain joined the roster – and as per an announcement from the company, that’ll be the last set of new characters in the game. “NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end,” said the developer in a tweet....

Being integrated means you will not need any apps in order to stream using the service. To stream using Twitch, navigate to the “Capture and Share” tab and choose “Live streaming”. Here you will need to link your Twitch account using a mobile device or using console Settings. Once the account is linked, hit the “Go live now” button to start streaming gameplay to Twitch. This feature only streams gameplay, so viewers will see a pause screen if you navigate to home or another app....

During the week, you’re meant to grind races for cash to upgrade your car, or buy a new one in time for the Saturday event. Being the most important of all races, it has a bigger buy-in than any of the weekday events. In other words, you need to have a load of cash by the time Saturday rolls around. The new game, however, will not be directly developed by Project Aces. Instead, the project is in the works at ILCA, the team respoinsible for the upcoming Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. ILCA previously contribued to environment and cinematics in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and has worked on other big-name franchises like Dragon Quest, Metal Gear Rising and others. Series producer Kazutoki Kono said that while Project Aces will be overseeing development, ILCA was brought in because the team can’t handle development duties on its own....

The new season event coming to Borderlands 3 is Broken Hearts Day. Enemies across the game will have special hearts floating around them. These hearts take a variety of forms, and if you shoot them, you will see a number of effects ranging from buffing your party’s damage output to temporarily converting an enemy to an ally. Alternatively, the can explode into “a pile of loot.” The more hearts you break, the more rewards you unlock....

The news comes from the official PlayStation blog, which recently published a post pertaining to Sony’s upcoming event. “It’s been a while… but State of Play returns this Thursday with a focus on third-party-published games coming to PS4 and PSVR,” reads the blog post. “We’ll have a few PS5 game updates on third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase.” This episode of State of Play has over 40 minutes of content, including new gameplay footage and updates for a variety of upcoming games....
