As picked up by Forbes, the latest Xbox Insider Alpha ring release has enabled testers to use Dolby Vision HDR for a (very) select number of Xbox Series X and Series S games. As the site reports, it seems the games that actually make use of Dolby Vision at the time of writing are limited to Borderlands 3, Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Wreckfest – though more will likely be added to the roster over time....
Come October 1, Xbox One users with an Xbox Game Pass subscription will be able to download and play Doom Eternal. It will arrive on Game Pass for PC later in 2020. Developer Playwing is releasing its upcoming dragon battle title Century: Age of Ashes into Steam Early Access early next year. The lawsuit first appeared in Business in Vancouver’s Who’s Getting Sued article – as spotted by The Patch Notes – which show that a class action lawsuit is being brought against the publishing giant. The Notice of Civil Claim – filed on September 30th by plaintiffs Mark Sutherland and Shawn Moore – argues that EA is not only operating an unlicensed gambling business, but that the company has also been unjustly enriched in the process....
Lehto was previously the president and game director at V1 Interactive, the developers of sci-fi FPS Disintegration. The studio shut down last year. “Hey everyone, I’m very excited to announce that I’ve joined EA as a Game Director, building a new studio in the Seattle area working on first-person games,” said Lehto on Twitter. “I can’t wait to share more about what we’re creating. If you want to make the most of your demigod spoils, you’ll need to brave their challenges. Divine Towers are the only way to activate Great Runes. These are completely separate from Remembrances, so even if you opt to consume a Remembrance and ignore the weapons and spells they offer, you can still activate Great Runes. It’s also a one-time process. While you can swap Great Runes at Sites of Grace, you only need to activate them once....

On PC, the development team is working on mouse sensitivity and an Easy Anti-Cheat issue where it is failing to launch when the Steam account name is set to 2-byte characters. A video released on Twitter today proves as much, as an invader runs up to a pair of players trading items and steals some incredibly valuable loot off the ground. This includes an almost fully upgraded Sacred Relic Sword, and the Dark Moon Greatsword. The video, created by twitter user ShikasClouds and embedded below, makes for an absolutely horrific watch. The relic sword is a rough loss, yes. But the stolen Dark Moon Greatsword is especially heart wrenching, as this weapon can only be picked up once per playthrough....
A lot of games get magic wrong. It’s too geometric, or too rigid, or too pissy. I should have known that FromSoft would buck the trend of underpowered, watered-down magic in games – I just never expected the studio to be this good at it. The Royal Revenants are the multi-limbed, crown-wearing centipede-like creatures. They’re hated because they often surprise you by spawning out of nowhere, so you can’t exactly avoid them. They’re hard to stagger, and seem to have infinite stamina; pummelling you with one attack after another with their flailing arms until you’re dead. To make Revenants even more aggravating, they have the ability to burrow into the ground and pop up behind you after they’re done with their combo, which can sometimes cause you to accidentally aggro other nearby enemies, and eat a few hits unnecessarily as you attempt to reposition - not to mention make it very hard to escape....

Another title coming to the service this month is Evil Genius 2, which was released back in March. You will be able to download and start playing it on November 30. Creative modders have already invited Fall Guys into games like Skyrim, and Resident Evil 3. It was probably a matter of time, come to think of it, but we’re glad it happened. The first mod, by creator m150, replaces all the followers in Skyrim with Fall Guys....
Fall Guys publisher Devolver Digital has issued a statement to explain why it had to revoke Steam keys of the game, most of which were bought in Argentina. According to Devolver, the company identified certain scammers who took advantage of the game’s lower, regional price in Argentina to mass-purchase keys at a further discount, and presumably offload those keys on grey market sites later. Unfortunately, Devolver mass-revoked and refunded many of those purchases, which ended up hurting legitimate customers who had nothing to do with these scams....
