To find out more about the Classic WoW zombie experience, I jumped in (before the massive queue times started) and met up with several players looking to make a mess in Classic WoW, through a truly limited, special event that may never return again. My gateway to a zombie adventure was Millehouse, a level 48 Rogue in my guild who was going to great lengths to make the lives of horde players significantly spookier....

Lab Zero’s Indivisible launched in late 2019 to mostly positive reviews, notably marrying platforming with RPG mechanics. It tells the story of Ajna, a young girl tasked with saving a beautiful fantasy world from destruction, and boasts a gorgeous, hand-drawn art style. Indivisible project lead Mike Zaimont recently took to Twitter to excitedly announce that the Switch port for Indivisible is now available on the Nintendo eShop for North America....

This week marks the launch of Season 5 for both Call of Duty: Warzone and the main game Modern Warfare. Considering the amount of content the new season is poised to bring, it should come as no surprise that it’s gonna be a big download. Paul Haile, production director at Infinity Ward, took to Twitter to alert fans that the Season 5 patch is going to be big. Haile explained that “all” of the new season’s content is included in the patch, which could indicate that future Season 5 updates will be smaller than usual....

As part of its Q3 FY2020 [PDF] earnings report, Square Enix shared a little bit of an outlook on the months to come. In particular, the publisher lightly touched on the subject of next-gen consoles. President Yosuke Matsuda was asked whether Square Enix is already working on next-gen titles. Matsuda revealed that because both PS5 and Xbox Series X will be backwards compatible with the current generation of games, the publisher intends to make its games available across both generations....

“Mario’s Dad” Shigeru Miyamoto took to the hosting in a special Nintendo Direct (below) this week showing off the new area in the park. Ever since the area was announced, fans have been clamoring to find out more about the slice of the Mushroom Kingdom coming to our real world. We’ve seen designs and small glimpses here and there of the park, but until now, we’ve mostly had our imagination....

The PlayStation 5 will not have an optical audio out port like PS4 and PS4 Pro. Sony elected not to bring back optical, just like Microsoft decided to with Xbox Series X. The confirmation didn’t come directly from Sony, because the platform holder has yet to actually show the back of the PS5. Instead, headset manufacturer Astro revealed to the press which of its various headsets are going to work with PS5 and Xbox Series X....

Lil Nas X’s concert in Roblox was a roaring success. The rapper took to the online game, one of the most popular in the world, to debut his new song, Holiday. Live experiences in games seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Travis Scott’s Fortnite performance reached over 27 million players earlier this year. Elsewhere, games like Destiny 2 have been experimenting in ‘you-had-to-be-there’ moments in-game. In a year where the pandemic has torn apart the live music industry, digital events like this appear to be a popular alternative....

The Lost Ark x The Witcher event arrived in the Korean version of Lost Ark last week, and everyone else will be able to experience the collaboration in January. Apparently, the island White Wolf’s Haven was currently in the midst of festivities when things were interrupted by a mystical vortex. It is up to you to uncover the mysteries leading to encounters with characters from The Witcher series. These characters are Geralt, Yennefer, Triss, Dandelion, and Cirilla....

As we get closer to the last Marvel’s Avengers beta test - open to everyone on all platforms starting today, developer Crystal Dynamics rolled out a pair of updates to address some of the problems and annoyances players reported over the last two beta weekends. Two in particular are worth highlighting here, because of how often they came up in discussions around the beta. All three platforms now have a slider to adjust camera shake sensitivity, which has been a constant point of contention among players, particular those who get easily motion sick....

The Tachyon Anomaly Event for Marvel’s Avengers will include a variety of activities involving Tachyon Rifts. You will be tasked with composing a Strike Team that can consist of more than one of the same Hero and take on the world’s threats. This means you can team up as four Hulks, or Thors, or whatever superhero you prefer. Players can also matchmake into teams that contain the same Heroes, meaning you’ll never know what combination of Heroes you may be part of....

Developed by Insomniac Games, the series now has sold more than 33 million copies globally, as of May 15, and the PC version will no doubt add plenty more units to the figure. The video shown this evening is being called a “tiny sample” of what to expect in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC. While tech specs will be discussed at another time, there will be PC-specific features such as adjustable render settings and ray-traced reflections....

The news was dropped in a Q&A session held by the game’s developer Asobo Studio last week (thanks, PC Gamer). According to the game’s executive producer, Martial Bossard, both DLSS 2.0 and FSR 1.0 are planned to arrive with Update 10 in July, and work on FSR 2.0 support is underway. When to expect FSR 2.0 support was not disclosed, but it is apparently coming ‘soon’. Elsewhere in the Q&A, Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, said to expect news on the next World Update to be announced during the Microsoft keynote on June 12....

Since the launch of the latest generation of console hardware, scalpers have been making headlines as they take advantage of high demand and low supply for both the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The issue has even driven UK politicians to call for scalping laws to help get stock back into the hands of genuine customers. But as politicians start undertaking the lengthy process of creating a law, Micrsoft has gotten the ball rolling with its own internal scheme available to Xbox Insiders now....

Nintendo may not exactly approve, and in some cases the means of acquisition have been illegal, but it’s been a banner couple of years for fans curious about the creation of some of gaming’s most iconic games. The latest revelation is in many ways a holy grail: a 1997 build of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Remember, the game didn’t come out for a year after that. The story of how this build came to be found is a long one, but the short version is this: gaming preservation fans found an N64 development cartridge of classic Nintendo racer F-Zero X....

The Howling Peaks DLC for Minecraft Dungeons will be released on December 9 alongside the Season Pass. Howling Peaks takes place on a mountain top and comes with new armor, weapons, artifacts, and new enemies such as the Squall Golem and Mountaineer. In it, the Tempest Golem has been corrupted by a shard from the Orb of Dominance. There are many new features as well to be announced at a later date....
