Sony announced Monday that Discord, the popular communication app on PC, will be available on its PlayStation consoles for the first time at some point in early 2022. In the blog post breaking the news, Sony also revealed that it has made a minority investment in the company behind Discord, though did not disclose the amount. This comes just weeks after Discord reportedly ended acquisition talks with Microsoft. Discord is, however, looking to expand, and Sony’s investment came as part of a Series H round of funding....

Modder Proteh has released the first version of their Doom Eternal horde mode mod. As you might expect, the mode tests players’ mettle by pitting them against rooms of increasingly difficult enemies. Though the default horde setup is intact, the mod does have a few interesting twists. For one, players start only with the shogun, with both its mods unlocked. As you progress through the rounds, you’ll unlock weapon points, weapon mods, and even praetor suit points, mastery coins and runes to upgrade your suit....

Steam has removed Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age off the store at the request of the publisher, Square Enix. According to the notice, this version of the game is no longer available due to the release of Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition. Those who have already purchased the game will still be able to download and play it, but those who do own it are a bit perturbed that in order to acquire the extra content they will have to dole out the funds to buy the Definitive Edition....

Back in June, Dungeons and Dragons principal rules designer Jeremy Crawford responded to a query about a yet-to-be-announced Dungeons and Dragons product - however, the tweets recently resurfaced on ResetEra, where players are having a lengthy conversation about ways to redesign the game in a fairer and more thoughtful way. As with many Japanese developers, FromSoft is guilty of making tweaks that do not get mentioned in patch notes.
