Today’s launch featuring the introduction of The Raid of Aberfell, a brand-new, 64-player Team Objective map that finds attacking and defending teams at the frontlines of battle over a sprawling map. This is one of the largest updates yet for Chivalry 2 – and remains part of developer Torn Banner Studios’ commitment to its community to double the size and scope of the game following its initial launch. To celebrate the launch, the game will be on sale for 33% off on the Epic Games Store for 24-hours....

Cliff Bleszinski, who you may also know by the very-2000s monikers CliffyB or Dude Huge, achieved infamy in the games industry when he shot to fame thanks to his work as lead designer of Gears of War. Since then, he worked on a range of other projects – including the doomed Lawbreakers and Radical Heights – before taking a break from the industry in 2018. It seems the draw of the gaming world may just too strong to resist, though, and now Bleszinski has confirmed that he’s working on a new project....

For those who wisely spent the last week away from Twitter and comment sections, here’s what happened: Newly-released indie title, Boyfriend Dungeon, has been causing a stir. Part dating sim, part dungeon crawler, it features a range of characters you can date and get to know - including one in particular who is less-than-savory. This character leans into themes that might be stressful or unpleasant for some players - stalking, unwanted advances, emotional manipulation, obsession - and some people are upset that this is a major component of a game that has looked like a breezy, fun dating sim in much of its marketing....

The court ruled the patent which Nintendo supposedly infringed upon was not valid, as the plaintiff, iLife Technologies Inc., was “impermissibly trying to cover the broad concept of using motion sensors to detect motion.” The ruling nullifies a 2017 $10.1 million jury award against Nintendo. The invalidated patent was the remainder of six patents that iLife Technologies asserted against Nintendo in 2013. The Patent Office found the other five invalid in 2016....

Cyberpunk 2077 hasn’t exactly had the smoothest launch: it’s been given a warning on Xbox and removed from the PlayStation store. But we’ve also seen some good news about the game on some platforms: after messing about with settings, we know it runs fairly well on PC. And Stadia players seem to be enjoying the experience, too. But as the video above demonstrates, it turns out the Stadia version of the game has other uses, too....

This is the latest in Google’s attempts to push Stadia, following on from a promotional deal earlier in the month that gave YouTube Premium subscribers a free copy of the $100 cloud gaming bundle. In the UK, just signing up for Stadia will knock almost £30 off the price for the premiere package. Is there a whiff of desperation here? Maybe. But for the low price of nothing, this isn’t a terrible deal....

CD Projekt Red’s lead QA tester, Lukasz Babiel, revealed that he has spent over 175 hours playing Cyberpunk 2077 and has yet to see the credits roll on the massive title. When asked by a curious fan if that huge amount of playtime is necessary for all players hoping to complete the game, Babiel replied: “Not really, that’s just one of my ongoing slow-paced playthroughs on the hardest difficulty where I play more stealthy than usual, loot everything, use every feature the game has to offer, I take my time....

You may recall in the very first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay trailer, the protagonist pulled an unconscious character out of a bathtub and immediately notified medics. Except in Cyberpunk’s grim world, the ambulance was a flying car that belonged to Trauma Team, a premium medical service. The arrival of these aggressive, gun-toting EMTs was one of the demo’s highlights, and you’ll soon be able to learn more about them ahead of the game’s release....

As a cyberpunk game, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 almost has to, by default, be an extreme, dark version of modern trends and concepts. This is also true in how the game portrays gun culture. Guns are everywhere in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, but that is not just because it’s a video game, CDPR went to great lengths to justify the abundance of weapons. Speaking to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK for the October issue, the developer explained how it went about doing this, and what that means for players....

While CD Projekt Red has been hard at work taking down any streams or Let’s Plays of Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of its official release on December 10. That hasn’t stopped a few people from trying. As reported by GamingBible, some of the game’s sex scenes have been uploaded to Pornhub. A Reddit post had also reportedly detailed many of these explicit first-person sex scenes, with the title also referring to the character Judy’s tattoos....

Cyberpunk 2077 is part traditional RPG, part open-world city roamer in the vein of Grand Theft Auto. That latter part means there’s a lot of vehicles on the streets. With the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, too, there’s also a lot of new and returning players flocking to the game. To traverse Night City quickly and easily you can simply steal cars, motorcycles, or just about any other vehicle, exactly like in GTA - but there are downsides....

The game may yet end up topping the PlayStation Store charts when those are revealed at the end of the month. It’s hard to estimate how much, if at all, the negative reaction to the leaks has impacted sales, but I am sure Sony will be monitoring these numbers very closely. If you plan to get the game, be sure to clear about 100GB of space on your console’s drive....

The Almighty is set to crash into the Last City and it’s up to you to shore up your defences and get Rasputin ready for a fight. The Io Seraph Bunker is the last of the pre-announced bunkers that will become available this season, though more may appear towards the end. This bunker is a little different as there’s no battle or area to clear, but you’ll still need to re-establish a connection with Rasputin and charge a Seraph Tower....

The launch of Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer last night was off to a wobbly start. When servers went back online following the usual maintenance before the start of every season, it didn’t take long for players to notice very long queue times. Then came reports of the Honeydew error, which prevents players from accessing the new content. Though things appear to have been more severe this time around, all of this is pretty much the usual for Destiny’s seasonal launches....

In a new blog post, the Destiny 2 developer noted that The Witch Queen (which was announced in the summer of 2020) will slip into 2022. “Last summer, we outlined our ambition for the next era in Destiny 2 by announcing the full arc, starting with Beyond Light, followed by the Witch Queen and Lightfall,” recaps the developer in its blog. “As we began to scale production on the Witch Queen last year, we made the difficult but important decision to move its release to early 2022; we also realized we needed to add an additional unannounced chapter after Lightfall to fully complete our first saga of Destiny....

The developer announced that the Forsaken campaign and The Tangled Shore destination will enter the Destiny Content Vault (DCV) on February 22, the launch day of the game’s next expansion: The Witch Queen. This also includes all of the Year 4 seasonal content, including The Presage and Harbinger Exotic missions. The Dreaming City, however, will continue to be available as a destination. Not everything in Year 4 will be going away, you’ll still be able to jump into The Proving Grounds strike, The Warden of Nothing strike, as well as The Battlegrounds activities....

There will be 12 car classes in Dirt 5, and Codemasters has provided plenty of information on each. Closer to release, a full list of every car in the game will be provided, but for now, the studio has outlined the off-road vehicle classes which will be made available. It’s D23 at the moment, the Disney event that announces a big range of upcoming films, TV shows, merch, and games owned by the media conglomerate.
