As of July 31, 2020, the limited eShops for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems that have facilitated game code redemption in recent years will be completely closed in 42 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. According to the statement, “users in the affected regions will no longer be able to access [the eShops] to redeem a download code, redownload software, or update software, so we encourage users to take any such actions before the closure date....

Team Ninja is celebrating last night’s official reveal of Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection by giving all Nioh 2 players Ryu Hayabusa’s iconic outfit in-game. The costume, available through the Boons menu after downloading the latest patch, is free for players on all platforms. As for the patch itself, the change log varies by platform. Starting off with PC, the game finally supports DLSS for players with Nvidia RTX GPUs. It’s not clear which version of DLSS that is, though we do hope it’s the more recent, superior implementation....

After much speculation, Nvidia has officially confirmed that it’s hosting an online event next month. The show is pre-recorded, and will be streamed live at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 5pm UK on Saturday, September 1. It will, as always, be presented by CEO Jensen Huang, and can be watched on Nvidia’s official site. Although the company didn’t specifically spell it out, it is widely believed that this is where the RTX 3000 series of graphics cards will be officially revealed....

Ahead of Facebook Connect (formerly Oculus Connect) this Wednesday, at least one of the company’s bigger hardware reveals has leaked. That, to no one’s surprise, is a new version of the popular, standalone VR headseat Oculus Quest. Details about the new headset, simply called Oculus Quest 2, leaked on Facebook’s Blueprint website. In truth, I think Monster Hunter’s success is down to a combination of the above elements. And Monster Hunter Rise – the latest entry in the 17-year-old Monster Hunter franchise – perfects the formula with aplomb. News of the delay on PC was announced via the official Watch Dogs: Legion Twitter account. The reason for the delay is an issue has been identified that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs. The team is working on fixing the issue as quickly as possible, and in the meantime made the decision to delay the online modes until said issue is fixed. According to the notice, some online modes will also be delayed on consoles, but the majority are still planned for release on March 9....

Alas, Metroid Prime fans could rejoice. However, the original developers behind Metroid Prime are expressing their frustrations with the remastered game. More specifically, its lack of full credits. Former Metroid Prime developer, Zoid Kirsch, took to Twitter to share their frustrations with the credits. “While many studios did amazing work on the remaster, I’m let down Metroid Prime’s Remaster does not include the full original game credits.” Kirsch continues, “I worked with so many amazing people on the game and everyone’s name should be included in the remaster....

Starting October 26, McCree will from here on out go by the name of Cole Cassidy. Back in August the studio announced it was changing the cowboy’s name to “something that better represents” what the game stands for, as the character’s namesake was Diablo 4 lead level designer Jesse McCree. The name change is part of Blizzard’s new policy which forbids naming any character or location in its games after current and former employees....

In what may be one of the biggest sets of patch notes ever to grace the internet, the developer promises to introduce a slew of fixes and other big changes to the game. There are some amazing highlights hidden away in the massive changelog, too. From “The Pope can no longer publicly accept cannibalism” to “Your mentor will no longer ditch you in the middle of your education”, we have to commend the poor soul that detailed all of these changes....

Earlier today, the PlayStation Japan Twitter tweeted “Welcome to the family” regarding Sony’s acquisition of Housemarque. The image attached to the now-deleted tweet showed Bluepoint Game’s logo instead of Housemarque (thanks, Gematsu). This has lead many to believe Sony has also acquired Dark Souls remake developer Bluepoint. The image in question showed other PlayStation Studios games such as Returnal, Days Gone, The Last of Us Part 2, with Demons Souls mixed in with the bunch....

PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium members can add these three titles to their game library from October 4 until October 31. Sony will announce the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog lineup for October later this month. The Japan Research Center, a private research firm in the country, has conducted a study to identify the most recognisable corporate characters. The survey includes everything from KFC and McDonald’s, to corporate mascots and even video game characters. More specifically, participants where surveyed on five game characters. Pokemon ranked the highest in brand recognition and favourable impression, with Super Mario Bros. behind it, and Dragon Quest after that. When broken down, the report notes that Pokemon only has a recognition rate of 12% overall, despite being at the top....
