Looking Glass Studios’ now-classic horror shooter System Shock is almost in our hands once again. The game – which is due to launch this summer – has today got a free demo, available to anyone, that shows off quite a lot of what you can expect from the final product. “A brand new, feature-complete demo of Nightdive Studios’ upcoming FPS/RPG hybrid, the System Shock remake, will be available for download today via the major digital services, offering players the most complete look yet of the opening chapter to Nightdive’s highly anticipated title,” says a press release from the developer....

The rumor comes from a leaked video of Tales from the Borderlands Redux which was posted to Reddit. It reportedly comes with new content, a bonus mini-episode, and unused content from the first game (thanks, IGN). At the end of the video, a two is flashed, leading many to believe it’s a teaser for a sequel, which is rumored to be in development. You can watch the clips for yourself on Imgur....

The declaration was hyperbolic, but as is often the case there’s a razor-sharp kernel of truth at the center of it. Tales of Arise might not actually technically be the best in the series - it isn’t quite my favorite - but it’s certainly one of the best and most accessible Japanese RPGs in recent years - though the systems that make it newbie friendly also aren’t too heavy-handed, meaning there’s plenty here for old hands of the series to enjoy....

So far, we’ve found a total of eight Whips that are up for grabs in Terraria. Some can be purchased from vendors, while others are drops in specific locations and some whips can even be crafted. They deal an impressive amount of damage, with the likes of the Morning Star inflicting 180 damage upon your foes. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was announced in July last year, and it’s in the works at KT Racing. Today, the developer and publisher Nancon released the rather cool trailer and confirmed platforms for the racer. It will be coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game promises to retain the “DNA of the series,” based on a love of “beautiful cars and the joy of driving around a luxurious island world recreated at 1:1 scale....

The Callisto Protocol is set to launch at the end of 2022, and so far, it’s not looking like a game for the faint of heart. Thanks to Geoff Keighley, we got our first look at gameplay last week at Summer Games Fest which had plenty of limb dismemberment and body stomping. Now, in an interview with PCGamesN, chief creative officer at Striking Distance Studios Chris Stone has explained some of the inspirations for the game....

First reported by the folk over at VGC, the information regarding the season pass was discovered after being added to The Callisto Protocol’s Steam page. The season pass will be available to all those who buy the Digital Deluxe version of the game, and will include story DLC, the Contagion Bundle, the Riot Bundle, and the Outer Way skin collection. The Contagion Bundle is an all-new game mode for The Callisto Protocol that isn’t for the faint of heart....

It takes only a brief scroll through the games main Reddit page to see a downpour of criticism and frustration splashing around, backed by a thundering storm of community members who left the game shocked by the monetization, or those trying to weather the storm without dropping too much cash on it. For those not in the loop, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta has been largely received as an incredibly enjoyable experience, with huge numbers of players hopping in since its surprise launch this week. For those who haven’t seen it, the battle pass for Halo Infinite is one hundred levels of free and premium content. To make your way up the pass, players need to complete a set of daily and weekly objectives that grant battle pass XP when completed. Sounds standard so far, right? Not unlike perfectly acceptable battle passes in other titles like Apex Legends. The problem lies in how much XP you’re given....

Bloober Team, the developers of Observer, announced its next horror game, The Medium, and it’s coming to Xbox Series X and PC. The soundtrack was composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) and Bloober Teams’ Arkadiusz Reikowski. Here’s the synopsis: Players will find themselves in the body of Marianne, a medium hounded by visions, living and interacting across two worlds: the real, and the spirit world. In a short notice sent by email, Valve announced the summer edition of the Steam Game Festival has been moved to Tuesday, June 16, and will run through June 22. It was originally slated to run June 9-14. The first Steam Game Festival was held in 2019 and took place alongside The Game Awards. A spring edition took place in March, and featured over 40 demos of titles meant for the postponed GDC 2020 event....

As part of Netflix’s Q4 2019 earnings report [PDF], the company shared some viewership numbers for its biggest shows in 2019. The Witcher, of course, was among the year’s biggest highlights for Netflix. According to the report, 76 million “households” watched the show during its first four weeks of availability, which puts it on track to be Netflix’s biggest season one debut ever for a series. Netflix considers anyone who “chooses to watch” at least two minutes of a show to be a viewer, which is its way of filtering out accidental clicks and general browsing....
