Speaking in a development update, the studio said it had “great ambition and high hopes” for the experience throughout our development, but it acknowledges that it “hasn’t found the right home” in Battlefield 2042. The team will now instead change its focus and energy to the modes players are engaging with the most. That said, Hazard Zone will remain in the game, but the team will only be addressing critical errors and odd behaviors should they appear....

In a blog post, publisher Bethesda said that it doesn’t have a time frame for these enhanced versions of the FPS as of yet, but promised that it will be one of the first of its games to receive an upgrade. The company also pointed out that you can play Doom Eternal on your new machines via backwards compatibility. The forthcoming upgrades will be applied to both the physical and digital versions of the shooter, but Bethesda warned that if you own a boxed copy of Doom Eternal and are upgrading to a digital-only next-gen machine, you won’t be able to upgrade the game....

Announced today in a blog post, the subtitle derives from what appears to be a title given to Solas, one of the party members of Dragon Age: Inquisition who was also a romance option. Solas is an elven hedge mage, dissenter, and expert on the Fade. One of his powers is lucid dreaming which allows him to discern the history of areas where the Veil is thin. He can also manipulate rifts in the Veil....

Both items, which proved incredibly powerful on their first appearance in the game back in 2022, will land on the map via capsule drops. Players nearby can then fight over the spoils, coming away with both an incredibly powerful mobility item, and everyone’s favourite laser beam. For DragonBall fans there’s more to get excited for. Earlier this month Microsft and Electronic Arts announced the two were teaming up to provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members an EA Play membership at no additional cost. Today it was announced that EA Play will be available as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate November 10. Beginning in December, members with an Ultimate or PC subscription will be able to download and play games from the EA Play library on Windows 10 PCs....

As part of EA’s earnings call for Q4 of its fiscal year 2020, the publisher confirmed that its cross-gen games launching this year can be upgraded for free to work on PS5 and Xbox Series X. EA COO, Blake Jorgensen, pointed out that EA recognised the impact of this on its revenue for FY2021, but that it shouldn’t affect net sales for the full year. “Note that this year, the phasing includes the effect of revenue recognition from the games we are launching for the current generation of consoles that can also be upgraded free for the next generation....

Speaking to investors, CEO Andrew Wilson said that its DICE studio is hard at work on a brand new entry in the Battlefield series and that this is set to impress thanks to the power of Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles. This new title is penciled in for release at the end of 2021. “DICE is creating our next Battlefield game with never before seen scale,” Wilson said. “The technical advancements of the new consoles are allowing the team to deliver a true next-gen vision for the franchise....

The game is currently in development over at EA’s Tiburon studio – you may recognize the name as the same studio behind the NBA Live and Madden franchises under the EA Sports label – and no launch date has been provided at the time of writing. In a new blog post uploaded by the publisher, it’s noted that the game will be built in Frostbite engine, which will allow the studio to bring “stunning fidelity, breathtaking immersive environments, and approachable, dynamic gameplay” to the title whilst taking advantage of the processing power of the new generation of console hardware....

How to Start Iron Fist Alexander’s Quest in Stormhill At the beginning of your journey, Iron Fist Alexander is found north of the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace, in Stormhill (shown above). Later, he can also be found in Gael Tunnel preparing for the fight, before then heading to Redmane Castle where he can be summoned to help against Starscourge Radahn. I missed catching him in Stormhill as I fought Radahn first, but by the looks of the above, it appears someone else must’ve helped Iron Fist Alexander out of this one....

This isn’t the first time Flurdeh has used tilt-shift, as Battlefield 1, Breath of the Wild, Final Fantasy 14, God of War, Half-Life 2, Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher 3, and others have been tilt-shifted. If you are wondering how this is accomplished, the tilt effect alters the focal plane of an image, while the shift effect alters an image’s perspective....

All FromSoftware games go through this after launch, but considering the sheer scale and scope of Elden Ring compared to the studio’s earlier work, the wealth of information game code might hide has many in the community giddy with excitement. But perhaps more interesting than that, a version of that mechanic actually existed in the game’s November 2021 Network Test. Using a modded PS4, McDonalnd was able to break through the boundaries of that build, and free the camera to compare and contrast with the final version of the game....

There are plenty of series that Nintendo have just kind of left in the dust. Kid Icarus is one such series, not having had a new title since 2012. Despite its cult status and re-releases of the first two games, the Earthbound/ Mother series hasn’t seen much love either. And over in the world of racing games, only Mario Kart has managed to hang on, with F-Zero’s last release being in 2004....

Out of the two main recruitable allies in Fallout 76: Wastelanders, Sofia’s storyline takes the longest as there are several quests you need to complete to win her affections. Beckett’s is less demanding, but you’ll still need to complete various quests for him before the option unlocks. So far, these are the only characters you can shack up within Fallout 76, but more will hopefully be coming in the future....
