Payday 3 is the next chapter in the first-person co-op heist series. The game has been in various forms of pre-production for a while, but developer Starbreeze recently announced landing a publishing deal, which will secure development funds and allow the team to finally bring this vision to life. Payday 3 was part of today’s Summer Game Fest kick off livestream, featuring in its new publisher’s announcement trailer. That being, of course, Prime Matter, the new label from Koch Media....

Persona 4 Golden launched on Steam this weekend, becoming the first ever Persona game to be available on anything without a massive PlayStation stamp on it. It’s turned out to be quite the launch, in that Persona 4 Golden has already dethroned Final Fantasy 15 by smashing the record for the most concurrently played JRPG on Steam - exclusing MMOs - in the digital storefront’s history. Although many fans online seemed to assume that Persona 4 Golden was a western port, various players on ResetEra and Reddit have already rolled credits on Atlus’ PS2 classic....

Microsoft’s Matt Booty recently spoke about exclusives, telling people not to expect any games that only launch on Xbox Series X for at least a year or two after the console’s launch late 2020. The idea is that first-party titles such as Halo Infinite will launch on all Xbox models, but the Xbox Series X version will have the highest fidelity. In a recent interview with Gamertag Radio, Phil Spencer went into a bit more detail about how Microsoft came to this decision, saying Microsoft is “putting the player at the center and not putting the device at the center” of its vision of the future....

A teasing reveals of the likes of Rainbow Six Siege and Control via cryptic tweets, it looks like the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account is at it again, this time hinting that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy may be on the way to the Microsoft subscription service. Replying to a tweet from the official Dragon Quest account that announced Dragon Quest XI S is available via Xbox Game Pass, the official (and usually inactive) account for Ace Attorney replied with the thinking-face emoji… to which the Dragon Quest account replied with kiss emoji....

The third announcement in Platinum Games’ big Platinum 4 campaign was made this morning. The Osaka-based studio is opening a new branch in Tokyo specifically focused on live operations. In a blog post, studio head, Atsushi Inaba, explained that Platinum is interested in the model of games that continue to evolve with new content months and years after release. “So far, the name Platinum Games has been nearly synonymous with single-player action games,” said Inaba....

For starters, there was an issue when while offline, the player’s screen would freeze after trying to pick up a lost satchel by throwing a ball containing a Pokemon. This has been addressed. An issue where a certain event would not occur during a particular Mission has been fixed, preventing the scenario from proceeding as intended. That’s rather vague, but Nintendo may not wish to spoil what the Mission is for players who have yet to acquire it....

This is also Pokemon Day, and during this time, the latest information on the franchise will be delivered. The presentation will start at 6am PT/9am ET/2pm UK, and you will be able to tune-in via the official YouTube channel. Pokemon Day is an annual event to celebrate the anniversary of the Pokemon franchise. Various Pokemon games will be celebrating Pokemon Day, with Pokemon Unite hosting a special event which will see Hoopa being added alongside challenges and special battles....

Pokemon is the highest-grossing franchise globally. With multiple TV series, rafts of films, near-annual video game releases, and a trading card game – all packed with cute pocket monsters – it makes sense that Pokemon dominates the markets in practically every country on earth. Since a little bit before the launch of the PS5, we’ve known that the system automatically records a clip every time you earn a Trophy. This is an upgrade over PS4, which only captured a screenshot. But it now appears that the clip also includes microphone audio, if you didn’t happen to have it muted. A number of PS5 owners discovered this by accident when re-watching their recorded clips. After beating a tough boss in Demon’s Souls, Reddit user Helloiamjack was surprised to find his celebration cry was picked up by the DualSense’s mic, forever bound to that moment where they snatched the win and earned the Trophy....

Announced in August for Xbox family of devices and PC, work has been progressing in tandem for PlayStation consoles, with publisher Wired Productions now able to confirm Martha is Dead will launch on all three platforms in 2021....

RTX is coming to Fortnite on September 17, the companies announced. Once the update is live, you can expect ray traced reflections, shadows, global illumination, and ambient occlusion significantly raising the image quality in the game. At the same time, Nvidia DLSS is coming to Fortnite to boost frame rates and to generate sharp images in the game. Additionally, the firm’s Reflex technology for reduced latency will also be supported....

Since the release of the Naturalist update (1.21) for Red Dead Online, players have been running into increasingly common problems. As reported by Polygon, some of those bugs Red Dead Online players are very familiar with, which seemingly come and go and never truly get fixed. The list includes missing animals, which makes it harder to fulfil the requirements of certain roles, not to mention hunt. Then there’s the lack of NPCs, which itself creates other problems, as some are necessary for quests and role progression....
