There were a number of announcements at D23 this past weekend, which included a tease for Niantic’s next game, another AR game, this time bringing the Marvel Universe into the player’s hands. “In Marvel World of Heroes, players can create their own unique Super Hero identity and origin story,” reads the trailer’s description. Players will need to patrol their neighbourhoods to foil crimes, complete Super Hero missions, and thwart interdimensional threats....

We spend most of Mass Effect 2 subtly running errands for the Illusive man, whether that’s by rescuing lost, sensitive data, or taking on mercs to retrieve cargo Cerberus is interested in. Interestingly, all of these missions are labeled as “N7” missions, rather than Cerberus ones, almost as if no one wants a record of the association… To be fair, in the case of that data, you can send it to the Alliance instead of to Cerberus, but this is really the first (and only) time you get to strike back at Cerberus before the game’s ending....

After years of rumours and speculation, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is finally launching later in 2021. Now thanks to the game’s Steam page we have an idea of what kind of hardware you need to run this new-and-improved version of BioWare’s iconic sci-fi RPG series. The minimum specs for the game are an Intel i5 3570 or AMD FX-8350 CPU, while users need to have 8GB of RAM. On the graphics card front, players need a GTX 760 if they have Nvidia hardware and either an AMD 7970 or R9280X if they’re AMD people....

Those trailers for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond made a hell of a promise. Playing on nostalgia for the original games and the promise of virtual reality as the next great frontier of gaming, it’s difficult not to be excited and enticed by that vision of a new class of first- person shooter from the franchise and some of the development leads that pioneered that format of shooter in the first place....

The story trailer for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond was shown during gamescom Opening Night Live. It features a single-player campaign that encompasses air, land, and sea where the goal is to sabotage Nazi bases. Announced during Oculus Connect 6, the game is set during World War 2 and has you playing as an agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in Europe. There will be three acts in the campaign, and you get to see everything from your perspective....

The Flames of the Nether DLC has been announced for Minecraft Dungeons and it takes you on a journey to the Nether. It features six new missions, new artifacts, weapons, gear, two new skins, and the Baby Ghast pet. A rather large free update is also coming to the game alongside the DLC. It includes a major new feature called Ancient Hunts, which are procedurally-generated end-game missions that weave in and out of the Nether....

To get us started with, Sony announced that Minecraft will be adding VR support later this month. “PS VR support has actually been a planned PS4 feature since we got the thumbs-up from Sony to bring cross platform play and the Bedrock version to PlayStation 4,” says Mojang’s Roger Carpenter over on the PlayStation Blog. Similarly to the main version of the game, you use your DualShock 4 controller to move around and “do all the crafting and choppy/fighty things that you need to do”, but you’ll be using your PSVR kit to look around and immerse yourself in the blocky world....

NetherRealm Studios’ 2009 Mortal Komabt reboot arguably revolutionized fighting games with its deeper, more cinematic story presentation. The team has been rolling with that style of single-player content ever since, but now it’s trying something new - a post-launch story expansion. Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is set to release digitally on May 26th, so in just a few weeks, and it’s basically bucking the trend of simple fighter pass DLC for the Mortal Kombat series to instead offer a fully-fledged expansion pack experience....

Back at launch, Mortal Kombat 11 dominated the charts of every single platform it came out on – it was a stone-cold hit from the day it launched. It’s little surprise to hear, then, that Warner Bros and NetherRealm have announced the game has sold more than 12 million units worldwide. That means, since the original Mortal Kombat game launched in 1992, the Mortal Kombat franchise as a whole has now surpassed more than 73 million units sold to date....

That’s if a recent PEGI rating for the Mortal Kombat Kollection Online is any indication. According to the rating dug up by Gematsu, the collection has been rated for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. It includes remastered versions of the first three Mortal Kombat games and is being developed by Blind Squirrel Games. The Austin-based developer is responsible for many game ports such as BioShock: The Collection and Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition....

The game features a MyTeam mode, and in the current season, Season 6: Zero Gravity, you can follow each round of the Playoffs and complete Agendas through the New Lifetime Agenda Groups. This will earn you Moment player cards from the winning teams as they accomplish each group. In the game, you will build your dream team consisting of NBA stars and legends across any era and use them in MyTeam....

Overnight, another video of a hacker in action has gone viral, this one seemingly showing off a new tactic previously unseen in the game. From the footage shared by Twitter user and Twitch partner, Yungstaz6, we can see a suite of new tricks being employed by the hacker. It looks like one particularly brash player has night-vision goggles in Warzone for some reason, can toggle permanent live pings on his enemies, and has the ability to change their in-game name....

The driver will also introduce DLDSR (Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution), an updated Nvidia Control Panel feature, enhancing Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) resolution with AI, to improve image quality and accelerate performance. Additionally, there are three new Nvidia Freestyle filters that will enhance games with Screen Space Ray-Traced Global Illumination, Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, and Dynamic Depth of Field. Niantic Games has rotated the latest 1 PokeCoin bundle and is also giving Pokemon Go players a freebie when they enter a special code. The new rotating 1 PokeCoin bundles will be available in the shop for one week as a one-time purchase. This week, it consists of 20 Ultra Balls and 15 Pinap Berries and will be available until April 13. Now, the best part: the freebie. According to Eurogamer, when you enter the code EMRK2EZWLVSSZDC5 into the bottom of the game’s shop page on Android, you will be handed four Golden Razz, four Silver Pinapp and four Pokeballs....

This is according to Xfire leaker Tom Henderson who has heard from sources that a second Prince of Persia title is reportedly in the works. According to Henderson, Ubisoft Montpellier is involved and the project is supposedly taking “inspiration from Ori” and will be a 2.5D game. Henderson said that details were slim, but the hope is that more will be revealed shortly. The Xfire report also stated a seqeul to Immortals Fenyx Rising is in the works....

Sony has just released the latest firmware update for all PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide. The update, version 20.02-02.30, comes in at the usual size of 868MB. Sony initially didn’t say specifically what this update fixes, and elected to once again use the classic “this system update improves system performance” as the only official patch note. However, a little while after the release of the new firmware, we actually got a proper set of patch notes....

Nintendo recently published its annual report for the fiscal year ending March, 2020, which includes a variety of details about the publisher’s plans for the future. On top of proving that its directors are paid significantly less than US execs, the report appears to confirm that Nintendo is interested in pursuing non-video games projects with its IP. A section in the report describes the instability of the contemporary video games industry, before briefly discussing the possibility of delivering Nintendo experiences to a wider audience....
