Many expected the device to sell for quite a bit more, especially since the owner was offered $1.2 million for it at one point. I quite like this fight, because it’s a mixture of the harder human enemies like Saito Yoshitatsu and Yokai bosses like the Enenra you’ve faced so far in Nioh 2. This week, Apex Legends kicked off The Old Ways event with a new update. Among other things, the patch also introduced Duos as a permanent option available for players. Developer Respawn previously experimented with Duos in other events, but this is the first time the mode has become a permanent fixture. Whenever Duos get mentioned, Solos fans also make their desire for the mode known. According to Respawn, the case for Solos is harder to make compared to Duos....

Graphics specialist Nvidia has said that there’s going to be limited stock of its RTX 30 cards for the next few months. Speaking at the 19th Annual J.P. Morgan Tech/Auto Forum Conference - as reported by Seeking Alpha - the company’s chief financial officer Colette Kress admitted that it hadn’t been able to keep supply level with demand. The exec said that there wasn’t much stock in the pipeline at the moment and that this is likely to be the case “throughout Q1” - or until the end of March in non-corporate speak....

Facebook has announced some fairly big Oculus news that affects current and future owners of its VR headsets. Starting this October, all new users will need to create a Facebook account to use any Oculus VR headset. Those who already have Oculus accounts will be asked to merge theirs with their Facebook accounts, but they can refuse for now and continue using their Oculus accounts until January 1, 2023. After that point, a Facebook account will be mandatory, as Oculus accounts will no longer exist....

The change revolves around waypoints, which are used to quickly travel across the open world in Genshin Impact. Now, you can quickly see at a glance whether or not a waypoint is located in the overworld, or in one of the many underground caverns that have recently been added to the game. Why is this a big deal? When travelling around the new region of Sumeru players may want to stay on the surface to find certain enemies, farm certain resources, etc....

News of the optimization of Ori and the Will of the Wisps was announced during today’s Xbox Showcase. Thanks to the success of Ori and the Blind Forest, we were given a well-received sequel to the gorgeous title. It was released last year on Xbox One, Windows 10 PC and Steam, and premiered in Xbox Game Pass for PC and console. The game is also currently available in Project xCloud Preview....

People Can Fly and Square Enix’s upcoming shooter Outriders has once again been pushed back. In a post on Twitter, the team said that the game would be missing its previously-announced February 2021 release date and would instead be launching on April 1. People Can Fly say that they will be using this extra time to ‘fine tune’ the game. It’s not all bad news though; a free demo for Outriders will be rolling out on February 25 which will give players the chance to check out the first few hours of the game....

But, at launch, all that was missing. Blizzard has let us know that Overwatch 2’s PvE content will launch, gradually, throughout 2023. It’ll be drip-fed to players as part of the game’s seasonal model, with new elements dropping regularly to give us a sense of this growing, shifting world the heroes call home. If you’re keen on seeing what all the unique hero talents are about, or how the progression system is going to work, or what all these supposedly replayable missions have in store, you’re going to have to wait....

This includes a showcase of the main menu featuring a battle pass option, weekly challenges, player endorsement levels, as well as a variety of new end of game screen. While these screens are from a developmental version of the game that is quite old by now, at least two years old by Jayson’s own admission, it may provide hints towards the direction Overwatch 2 is headed. A battle pass seems like a natural step forward for Overwatch 2, as it’s progression feature that many of live service games in the field have embraced openly at this point....

Coming in 2023, Payday 3 will be made available on PC and consoles. While console platforms weren’t announced, it’s safe to assume PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be included. Additional content and functionalities are planned for the long term beyond the original release date. Alongside the release window, Starbreeze also announced a co-publishing deal with Koch Media with Starbreeze retaining ownership of the Payday IP. “We are excited to announce this exclusive long-term Payday 3 co-publishing deal with Koch Media who shares our passion for the franchise and the “Games as a service” model," said Starbreeze action CEO Tobias Sjogren....

On April 7, at 11am UTC, Kinetic launched the VR Overhaul update for Phasmophobia. With an entirely new VR system now in place, gameplay and ghost hunts should go much smoother for the VR enthusiasts out there. This, however, is probably going to make things all the more terrifying, and you certainly won’t catch me trying to counter an Obake or Banshee in VR. Phasmophobia will now support all major VR headsets, various options for grabbing items have been implemented, and players can also play in VR Seated Mode or simulate crouching, to prevent the need to regularly duck....

For the next three days, you can live out your vampiric fantasies and become the next Dracula. Developed by Stunlock Studios, V Rising is an open-world vampire survival game which surpassed 1 million copies sold its first week in Steam Early Access. That figure jumped another million during its first month of availability. The game features servers with up to 50 players, where you start out as a weakened vampire after centuries of slumber....

Lumen in the Land of Nanite is a demo showing off the all-new version of Unreal Engine, available to developers in preview in early 2021. Enough talk, watch it below. Unreal Engine 5 runs on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android and Mac and is built around two new core technologies Epic is calling Nanite and Lumen, as it strives for photorealism. “One of our goals in this next generation is to achieve photorealism on par with movie CG and real life, and put it within practical reach of development teams of all sizes through highly productive tools and content libraries,” said Epic....

Technically speaking, the main point of Pokémon, outside of becoming the champion, is catching them all (after all, the slogan is “Gotta catch ’em all!”) However, battling is obviously the main vehicle through which you achieve both of these things. You can even battle your friends, though according to a new video from Did You Know Gaming, multiplayer battles wasn’t always a planned feature. The video sources an interview from a 1996 Pokédex book from Japan, where multiplayer battles were actually a last-minute demand from Nintendo....

The developer of mobile title Pokemon Go, Niantic, is rolling out a scheme to support Black game developers. The Black Developers Initiative is a brand new effort by the studio, with the promise of people who are selected receiving five months of funding, mentorship and development support from Niantic’s “leaders” with the aim of completing a playable prototype of their game. The first team to be welcomed into the Black Developers Initiative is Wicked Saints, with its project World Reborn....

PlayStation Plus members may be in for a stellar June. According to a new report from Areajugones [Spanish], Virtua Fighter: Ultimate Showdown is set to be one of the three PS Plus titles coming to the subscription service in June. Back in April, we saw art and a title for the upcoming ‘Virtua Fighter esports’ game get published accidentally on PSN. It stands to reason that this is the game Sega has been working on behind-the-scenes for a little while (the publisher intends to reveal it properly on May 27 in a special livestream)....
