The company always said that the EGS won’t feature forums because they only bring toxicity and aren’t popular amongst developers. It also won’t include user reviews because of their potential for review bombing. This week, years after the Epic Games Store first launched, two new features arrived that aim to replicate a version of user reviews and tags. Game Ratings are sort of like reviews, except users can’t actually write anything - there’s only a star rating on a five-point scale....

Xbox Series X consoles are out in the wild, or at least, they’re ready to be shipped. Reddit user Thejasonng posted a picture showing stacks of consoles at a warehouse somewhere. Not only is this another look at the real retail box, which had only been shown in PR images, it also means people with certain access are able to get their hands on the console, which inevitably means plenty of unboxing videos....

As a fan of the core Ace Attorney series, I’d always sort of written off The Great Ace Attorney. A pair of spin-offs that was previously a Japan-only affair, I found myself inherently less interested in the concept of games disconnected from the main cast and narratives I’d fallen in love with back on DS. Airing exclusively on Paramount+ in the US and in all international markets where the streaming service is available, the show lauches on Thursday, March 24. In addition, David Wiener (The Killing, Brave New World) will join the series as showrunner and executive producer for the second season. “Halo is an expansive, world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re thrilled to give fans a second season to look forward to before we launch the series next month,” said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer, Paramount+....

The game’s 23rd fighter – the latest reveal in a long line of characters drip-fed to an audience on tenterhooks – Vanessa makes her return to the ring after being a DLC character in King of Fighters 14. The reveal of the character also showed off Team Secret Agent; a new team that also contains Luong. She joins the likes of Chris, Mai, King, Yashiro Nanakase, Yuri Sakazaki, Kyo, Shun’ei, Chizuru Kagura, Iori Yagami, Benimaru, Joe, and Meitenkun in the roster....

Speaking with the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann it’s been pretty rough on the team having to delay The Last of Us: Part 2, but the entire studio is working hard from home to get it to fans as quickly as possible. According to Druckmann, when you work on something so hard, and for so long, and you can’t wait to get it in people’s hands, putting the game on hold is a “bit rough....

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 now has more game of the year awards than any other release ever. That’s according to tracking site Game Awards, which reports that the post-apocalyptic title boasts a whopping 261 top nods from 2020. The Last of Us Part 2 came in ahead of Supergiant’s Hades – which claimed 53 game of the year awards – and fellow Sony title Ghost of Tsushima, which apparently received 49 awards....

Here’s what it says on the PlayStation website: “1 player. 2 discs. 100 GB minimum.” We already knew the physical edition of The Last of Us Part 2 was to ship on two discs, so it makes sense that the digital edition would be a beefy boy. Naughty Dog’s latest was delayed indefinitely because of logistical issues surrounding COVID-19, but it’s since been given a new date and is launching on June 19....

Frankly, I don’t care what projects a game development studio decides to take on, and in this particular instance the handwringing over an extensively spruced up remake feels rather performative. My take: this is a superb remake of an already brilliant game that brings it up to the standard people expect from a modern Naughty Dog game. It’s easily one of the best remakes I’ve ever played. If you are coming to The Last of Us for the first time, what you’ve got is essentially a zombie apocalypse scenario, but we don’t call them zombies – they’re the infected and they come in variety of horrific forms, such as Runners, Stalkers, and Clickers (the latter gives me shivers just reading the name)....

You can check out the new trailer below, which offers fans a fresh look at how Daedalic intends to treat the beloved villain who is also sometimes nice. The trailer opens with some rather rank-looking dead fish, which is quite an emphatic implementation of an atmosphere that screams “Gollum.” There’s lots of lovely cave paintings too - it seems Gollum is quite the artiste. After that we get a look at him knocking about on all fours, scrambling across treacherously jagged rocks in his little boxer shorts....

Announced during the Epic Games Summer Showcase, the game is in development at Free Range Games, known as both an in-house developer and an external studio. As the latter, it is currently working with Striking Distance Studios on The Callisto Protocol and previously worked on many of the levels in Oddworld: Soulstorm. Set in the Misty Mountains during the rather peaceful Fourth Age of Middle-earth, this original adventure finds a company of dwarves setting out to reclaim the ancient subterranean complex of Moria....

This is the first expansion to arrive for The Outer Worlds, and it expands the reaches of the Halcyon Colony. The DLC takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid to investigate the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time. During your shift, you’ll find new Board approved weapons, armor, flaws, and the same freedom to approach your problems. The level cap is also increasing to level 33 with new perks and skills. Peril on Gorgon will be available on September 9 for $14....

One of the biggest changes in this week’s Call of Duty: Warzone 1.21 patch has been a nerf to RPGs. The RPG has always been lethal in Modern Warfare multiplayer, but that was just a fraction of how utterly broken it was in Warzone. Put simply, RPGs are more effective than any weapon. Unlike most weapons, you don’t actually need to see your enemy to hit them with an RPG....

A new Twitter account popped up called ‘TheRealInsider’, and it began revealing things about upcoming gaming announcements and marketing beats. People quickly started paying attention because it got stuff right. Its initial big break was revealing information about Ubisoft’s huge slate of upcoming Assassin’s Creed games – and then more and more information about other games followed....

The last patch for the game, update 4.01, was supposed to fix performance issues on both consoles and PC but made things worse on the latter. A problem with the last patch was that if you didn’t have ray-tracing enabled, the game ran worse than before. On PC, the patch added a performance mode for ray-traced global illumination which was said to improve frame rate by prioritizing performance over range and precision....

As per the report, CDPR states that The Witcher Remake is a “story-driven, single player open-world RPG - a modern reimagining of 2007’s The Witcher.” This is a slight update on what we first learnt when The Witcher Remake was announced. Back in early October, CDPR happened to unveil a whole host of projects that it intends to work on over the coming years. The Witcher Remake was one of them, alongside a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, a free next-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a whole new Witcher game, and an entirely new IP....

Microsoft announced the following games are leaving the service within the next couple of weeks: The Anacrusis, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Nobody Saves the World, Pupperazzi, and Windjammers 2. Game Preview title The Anacrusis is a four-player, cooperative first-person shooter set aboard a large starship stranded in space. In it, you team up with others to fight against alien hordes. In development at Stray Bombay Company, the title’s AI Driver controls every aspect by spawning enemies, directing bosses, and placing every weapon, gadget, and health kit within the confines of the game....

The long-awaited Trials of Osiris returns and will go live in Destiny 2 tomorrow, March 13. Trials is a 3v3 weekend-only competitive mode and tasks you with winning as many matches as possible before losing three. Returning maps include Anomaly, Cauldron, and Exodus Blue. If you missed out on the Trials gear set from the original Destiny, just win a Flawless match and you will be able to sport it....
