Alongside today’s Battlefield 2042 reveal, EA shared a few details about the game’s various editions, and their different prices. For starters, Battlefield 2042’s standard edition is priced $60 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The price goes up by $10 on PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Then there’s the Gold Edition – for $90 on PC and $100 on consoles – and the Ultimate Edition – priced $110 on PC and $120 on consoles....
This morning, Battlefield 5’s summer update (even though it’s technically still spring) was released on all platforms. As previously announced, this is effectively the game’s last major content patch, though smaller updates could follow later to tweak the balance and fix any remaining bugs. Hoping to end it with a bang, DICE packed a lot of content into the 10GB update. There’s a whole new map in Al Marj Encampment, a desert playground in Libya that works in Conquest, Breakthrough, TDM, Squad Conquest and supports up to 64 players....
The report comes from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb during his Game Mess Mornings podcast, claiming that the Black Panther game is currently in early development. The internal name for the title is Project Rainier, and is being developed by a new studio led by former Monolith Productions studio head Kevin Stephens. The “big open world Black Panther Game,” as described by Grubb will see the player taking up the mantle of the superhero after the previous incarnation dies....

Speaking in an open note to fans on the official website (thanks, Massively), Blizzard said earlier this year it started actively working to finalize plans for this fall’s BlizzCon 2020. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio is instead keeping an eye on whether to proceed with its plans. While we’re all hopeful things will look better later in the year, the bottom line is that at this point it’s too early to know whether BlizzCon 2020 will be feasible....

Bungie has removed the weekly reward limits on five of Destiny 2’s featured raids. Players now essentially have unlimited tries to get all the raid-exclusive weapons and armour, such as raid Exotics. The only thing that will remain on the standard weekly timer are secret chests. With this year’s Moments of Triumph now live, players will also earn cosmetics - such as shaders, emotes and Ghost shells - after completing any of the five raids....
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players will be able to try out a new Zombies map next month on February 4 called Firebase Z. Treyarch teased the map earlier this week before announcing it today. As the blurb reads, with the destruction of the Projekt Endstation site, Requiem is now focused on the latest Dark Aether outbreak site: Outpost 25 which is also known as Firebase Z. The developer is celebrating 115 Day tomorrow on Friday, January 15 with new details on the map, plus additional updates to expect when the map launches....
Available right now, Operation Flashback is a limited time four-player game mode where all the best moments from the past ten Warzone seasons are brought back one last time. It works by implementing one of these special public event every time a new circle is placed on the map, with the safe zone circles coming quicker and more frequently so you can experience as many of Warzone’s greatest hits in a single game as possible....
This week’s Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare update brought a lot more than 200-player Quads. The real meat of the patch is all the weapon balance tweaks and gameplay changes. To start with, the Gulag has had its arsenal refreshed. You’ll now find semi-auto weapons, including sniper rifles, and a random chance at getting a fists and throwing knives-only round. The patch notes mention that gas masks will now crack when taking damage close to or in the circle, but that likely only applies to cases where they are equipped in the first place....
Since the rollout of the update, there have been some pressing issues for the game. As well as the irritating persistence of the winter terror, Krampus, we also saw the Awoken Francis skin running rampant across both Caldera and Rebirth Island (much to the chagrin of serious and casual players alike). The current state of the game sees players that equip the Awoken skin appear in-game as just a floating orange head....
Rather than the incremental changes we’ve seen to Rebirth Island and Verdansk so far, you can look forward to a full new map, this time located in the Pacific; Caldera. In a massive new update, Activision has detailed the plans for the rollout of the new Warzone update – and the launch of Vanguard proper, too. Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher publisher CD Projekt has published [PDF] its earnings for the first quarter of FY2021. Profits dropped by 64.7% to roughly $8.7 million, well below the $21.8 million analysts expected the company to generate. This is a result of a 2% revenue slump, but mainly because of the company’s continued development to fix Cyberpunk 2077 and create DLC. Although CD Projekt did not say how many copies of Cyberpunk 2077 were sold during the quarter, the publisher said that the game is responsible for 60% of overall sales over the period....
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition launched earlier this week, but now certain players are claiming that legally purchased, digital versions of PSOne Classics like Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger are no longer playable, as reported by Kotaku. Twitter user Christopher Foose shared an image showing their digital copy of Chrono Cross with an expiry date of 12/31/1969, and that the remaining time to play the game had expired, and is no longer playable on PS3 or Vita....

If the 15 characters available in the base roster of Guilty Gear Strive don’t do it for you, fret not: Arc System Works has revealed that more additional DLC characters are set to join the eclectic roster via Season Pass 1.
