An independent agency of the US government, the FTC alleges the $69 billion deal would enable Microsoft to suppress competitors to its Xbox gaming consoles. In a complaint issued December 8, the FTC pointed to Microsoft’s “record of acquiring and using valuable gaming content to suppress competition from rival consoles.” The agency specifically called out Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax, Bethesda’s parent company, and the decision to make some of the studio’s titles exclusive to PC and Xbox....

French publishing giant Ubisoft is giving away the PC version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas entirely free of charge today. In a post on its website, the firm said that folks can pick up the title for the cost of nothing at all over on Ubisoft Connect (Uplay). The rating page mentions the usual warnings, such as foul language, drug use and all the other themes that make the sequel not suitable for minors - which isn’t surprising given the 2018 game. Sadly, the rating does not come with a release date. That said, the fact that the game has been rated means it’s content complete. Dark Horse Comics is working on a new God of War comic that reveals some of what took place between the end of God of War 3, and the 2018 soft reboot. Named God of War: Fallen God, the comic’s first issue is due June 24. It does not appear to directly connect to the events of 2018’s God of War, at least judging by the official blurb. Instead, it focuses more on what happened after Kratos defeated Zeus and Athena, and his search to find a purpose....
