We first heard about a potential online aspect for Horizon Forbidden West back in early 2020, before the game even had its subtitle. There’s isn’t too much shown in the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity video, but you at least get a look at some of your allies. The story is set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Age of Calamity was referenced in Breath of the Wild, but full details were not provided in the story. In the game, you will learn more about Zelda, the four Champions, the King of Hyrule, and more through cutscenes as they try to save the kingdom from Calamity....

According to the company, the pricing error affected the following countries: Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK. Other markets have not been affected. Originally set to release sometime this year, back in May the studio delayed Kerbal Space Program 2 into fall 2021 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One due to complications from COVID-19. Now, according to creative director Nate Simpson, it will be 2022 before we get our hands on it. Simpson states a reason for the delay is partially due to the “immense technical and creative challenge” with the sequel. “It’s not enough to deliver a bunch of new features – those features have to be woven together into a stable, polished whole,” said Simpson....

Needless to say, a series that has been around for three decades going 3D for the first time is kind of a big deal. As a Kirby fan since the very first game, I’m not ashamed to say I squealed like Marx getting bisected at the end of Kirby Superstar Ultra when I finally saw my precious pink boy moving around a beautiful 3D, HD space. However, it’s actually an even bigger deal when you take into consideration just how many years developer HAL Laboratory has wanted to bring Kirby into the third dimension....

The studio announced on Twitter it would be revealing more about Baldur’s Gate 3 on June 6. This announcement will be part of the Guerrilla Collective which was announced in the wake of the cancellation of E3 2020. Seemingly hoping everyone will be too busy with Summer Game Fest and E3 to notice, CD Projekt has posted an update on its security breach. The developer said in a post that while it is unable to confirm the exact content of the stolen data, it is aware that the data is being shared online. To that end, CD Projekt believes it “may” include employee and contractor details, for current and former staff....

Resident Evil 7 is apparently going to receive the next-gen upgrade treatment. That’s according to AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem aka a known and accurate leaker, who said on Twitter that Capcom was working on an upgrade for Resident Evil 7 for Microsoft and Sony’s new machines. They said that this was “100% happening,” but wasn’t revealed as part of the Resident Evil livestream that the Japanese publishing giant held yesterday, January 21....

A Nintendo leaker Ryan “RyanRocks” Hernandez has been sentenced to three years in prison. According to the United States Department of Justice, Hernandez is going to be spending the next three years in jail, followed by seven years of supervised release. He’ll also need to register as a sex offender. In 2016, Hernandez and an associate used phishing to steal a Nintendo employee’s credentials, allowing them access to confidential information....

Legends of Runeterra will make the move to open beta on PC starting January 24 at 11am PST, the studio announced today. Alternatively, if you pre-register an account before January 20 you’ll get access to open beta a day early. While this isn’t the official launch of the game - that’s slated to happen later this year - it does mark the end of account resets, and will see the introduction of ranked mode....

But, some 17 years later, something has to give: not only have there been four more Lego Star Wars games since this brilliant debut, there have also been all manner of other licensed titles beating the same ‘Age 4-99’ drum. DC, Marvel, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, and Disney/Pixar properties have all had this ‘don’t-think-about-it-too-hard’ Lego mentality applied to them over the years. And though the appeal of Lego in the real world might never get old, doing the same thing over and over again in games sure does....

It’s a fighting game that has taken clear inspiration from other games like Super Smash Bros, Brawlhalla and Rivals of Aether but it’s got its own charm, character and mechanics. Comparatively it’s nowhere near as robust as those other games and doesnt have the same level of polish and refinement, so I don’t think it’ll be headlining any EVO tournaments anytime soon. The combat feels clunky because it has very fast movement but a lot of the moves and abilities have a delay and no buffer which slows it right back down....

The first instance of that maturity we see is the most obvious. True Colors’ protagonist, Alex Chen, is 21 during the events of the game, the oldest main character we’ve seen from these titles so far. Most of the other characters are around this age or older, and the focus is on the Town of Haven Springs as a whole, rather than events around the local high school, or the more nomadic route Life is Strange 2 takes....

Update: Square Enix has just confirmed that the Switch version of Life is Strange: True Colors has been pushed back to some other date this year. The LinkedIn profile of one of the studio’s level designers seems to reveal that the company has been working on an unannounced “new IP” for the last six months. The page was later edited and the listing removed. The LinkedIn page was initially spotted by Klobrille, who has a good track record at picking game development stories up and posting them to Twitter. We already know that The Coalition working on ‘multiple new projects’, but seeing that one of these is in a new IP is an interesting development....
