Lucid Games and Sony xDev, the developers behind Destruction Allstars – which is one of February’s free games on PlayStation Plus – have taken part in a new interview with Eurogamer, where the studios outlined what players can expect from this action-based driving game. The interview goes into a bit more detail about the game which we’ve not heard all too much about just yet. Sony xDev’s John McLaughlin noted that the developers have “a plan for the forthcoming year” for the live service title – though it’s not as clear cut as simply following a strict roadmap when it comes to rolling out updates....

PUBG’s patch 9.1 has arrived on the game’s live servers on PC following a week of testing, bringing with it the new Paramo map, a smaller 3x3Km arena with an active volcano. Outside of its unique setting compared to other PUBG maps, Paramo’s main hook is that its layout and weather conditions change with every match, shifting the location of major landmarks and altering the terrain of each area. Lava flows from Paramo’s active volcano, which creates lava streams that deal damage to players and vehicles....

The city of Midgar has been greatly expanded in order to support the adventures of a full game - sections of the original FF7 that might’ve taken ten minutes in the original are now rich with detail and might take four or five times as long, such is the expansion....

A little over a year ago, Remedy announced signing a publishing deal with Epic Games to produce two games for PC and consoles. According to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, one of those is Alan Wake 2. Grubb revealed this on his Twitch show, explaining that Remedy had been looking for a publisher to help it fund Alan Wake 2, and Epic offered the best deal. The reporter didn’t reveal any other details about the game, just that it was something Remedy wanted to make....

As spotted over on gaming forum Resetera, a title screen for Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version can be found almost hidden away on the same site you need to visit to launch the cloud version of Control on Nintendo Switch. After Nintendo announced both Control and Hitman 3 for Switch via cloud streaming yesterday in a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini, it’s not really a shock to see more big games being lined up for the hybrid handheld/home console....

Another beta test for RE: Verse, the multiplayer shooter free with every copy of Resident Evil Village, is on the way. In the game, in case you are just hearing about it, six players engage in a deathmatch that allows them to mutate into various Resident Evil monsters in order to win. The beta test is available for anyone who downloads it from the Playstation, Xbox, or Steam stores, and it will be live for 24 hours....

This is according to the company’s CEO and co-founder Dave Baszucki, who stated the consoles make “perfect sense” for Roblox. Baszucki also seems keen on Oculus Quest (thanks, GamesRadar). If you are unfamiliar, it allows users to build their own games using Roblox Studio. It also has elements of an MMO, as many players can come together to play and build. It is currently available on PC, mobile, and Xbox One, and released on the latter back in 2015, and has been quietly expanding in the background since....

On September 23, Rocket League will go free-to-play, and to celebrate, the developers are also throwing an in-game event, Llama-Rama, soon after launch with more details coming next week. In preparation for the release and event, an update will be live on all platforms tomorrow to lay the groundwork for the free-to-play change. While there is not much to go on in the GTA Online teaser, it looks like we’re getting an addition to the map. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Back in July, Rockstar said that later this year we should expect the “biggest ever update” for the game. It is said to feature a new take on Heists in a new map location. This week, the first Rezzed Digital is taking place. Rezzed Digital is a small replacement of EGX Rezzed proper, now taking place in July. As you’d expect, plenty of indie developers had planned to show off their games at the event, and will now have to wait. And there’s even better news: according to the official Splatoon 3 website, you will also receive save data bonuses. You can transfer save data once per Nintendo Account by launching Splatoon 3 or entering the lobby while connected to the internet. To transfer, and save data from Splatoon 2 must be on the same system with the same user account. If there’s save data from Splatoon 2 on your Switch, part of it can be transferred to Splatoon 3, and transferring the data will net you three Gold Sheldon Licenses that you can exchange for main weapons, regardless of player level....

Both companies had previously discussed the possibility of dismissal of the suit but could not reach an agreement. But now, there seems to have been an agreement inked. Details on the settlement were not disclosed but according to Gamasutra, both parties have jointly filed to have the case dismissed “within 30 days of the settlement agreement.” Back In January, Crytek wanted to have its case against Cloud Imperium dismissed until Star Citizen spin-off Squadron 42 was released....

According to Chinese tech outlet Caixin, Sony has inked a deal with Delta Air Cargo that will allow it to ship PlayStation 5 consoles to the US by air until the end of the year. In an interview with Delta Air China Cargo head Jerry Tai, as reported by analyst Daniel Ahmad, the airline revealed that Sony has booked 60 flights - or possibly 60 planes - to facilitate speedy shipping of PS5 consoles....

As reported by Polygon, the cult horror hit is no longer transferrable between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, nor is it playable via backwards compatibility. Initially, it was possible to move PT to the PS5 and play it, but that functionality seems to have been removed at some point. This gave fans hope that Konami’s horror teaser could live on after it emerged that the game was – to the surprise of no-one – unavailable to download from the PlayStation Store....
