Kojima recently shared a tweet published by the official Kojima Productions Twitter account, which has been posting a list of anecdotes from the veteran game designer titled “Hideo’s musings.” One such musing described some of the odd jobs Kojima used to do in order to earn some money during university. His first part-time job involved filming wedding ceremonies. He reckons that taught him what it was like to be, in his words, a “salary worker,” knocking about looking all dapper in a suit and tie....

Originally slated for spring before being moved to the second half of this year, IO states that while the mode is “almost ready,” there are a few more things to be certain of before Freelancer launches. To that end, the studio plans to host a Freelancer closed technical test for the rogue-like mode. In early November, the IO will selectively invite Hitman 3 players on Steam to put the mode through its paces....

On April 19, 2023, Buring Shores will see Aloy pursue a threat in wilds of the treacherous archipelago, Los Angeles. Picking up where the storyline of the main game left off, in this area south of the Tenakth Clan Lands, you will find new characters, adventures, and more. The overgrown and fractured city of LA can be fully explored via the water or by flying on the back of a Sunwing....

The most notable thing in the new trailer is the variety of garbs and getups Aloy gets to dress up in – there are a few looks you may recognise from the first game, alongside some brand new aesthetics, too. Check out the new trailer below. The keen-eyed amongst you might even notice there are a fgew new machines in the mix, too. Our personal favourite is that big mechanical snake – a feat of engineering in itself, the way it moves (and the threat it no doubt poses) just seethes threat....

The showcase’s call for submissions was announced via YouTube back in March, running until May 31, and now it’s only a matter of hours before it’s revealed with games made the cut. The most exciting thing about this neat, niche showcase is the lack of leaks; we’ve truly no idea what games will be shown, which has us gearing up for a rather thrilling Friday night of indie reveals. Last year’s EEK3 showcase was incredibly haunted indeed, and a handful of the titles shown might’ve already been familiar to Haunted PS1 fans as being a part of 2021’s Haunted PS1 Demo Disc from a few months prior....

Just as you’re recovering from the Godfrey fight, Elden Ring is about to throw you into the fire yet again to tackle an even tougher foe. Radagon of the Golden Order is your first obstacle, which you need to overcome to fight the spirit of the Elden Ring itself: Elden Beast....

For every Burnout that Acclaim proudly published, it oozed out turkeys like Shadow Man 2. In a tough era where there was a lot of games competing for attention on the PS2 and original Xbox, Acclaim put together a number of shameless PR stunts to stand out in the crowd - simultaneously fantastic and horrifying in their audacity. Tunic looks gorgeous. Ever since it was first revealed it was on my radar as a game I’d have to play on release. Like a retro Zelda (but made today), its art-style oozes childhood whimsy, yet it’s not kiddy. The soundtrack seemed incredible, too, and the little of the game I saw in trailers suggested there was a great mystery to unravel. Boy, was I excited to play Tunic. But then I did....

There are a lot of little changes beyond the graphical overhaul present in the new version of 2007 classic Mass Effect that’s included in Mass Effect Legendary Edition, the newly-released remaster. These range from changes to the way weapons handle and work to bug fixes and the like - but I just don’t get the new Level Scaling setting. The original Mass Effect had a level cap of 60, which was admittedly fairly difficult to hit without jumping into new-game plus....

Halo Infinite is currently generating a seemingly infinite number of memes; fans melting down over the inclusion of sprint, flat-looking screenshots… and of course that Brute, a single character from a single screenshot who has basically become the new version of Wall Guy, a character from a naff-looking Perfect Dark Zero screenshot so internet famous in 2005 that developer Rare slipped a reference to him in the game. But when you step back from all of this for a second and take in the released footage on its own, something else becomes clear: Halo Infinite surely looks like 343’s best run at the series yet....

First launched for PC in 2017, the technology-centered horror title - one part Stranger Things (the game’s poster was even designed by Kyle Lambert, the man behind the Stranger Things poster), one part 80’s-inspired text adventure puzzle game - made the move to Nintendo Switch this week following earlier confirmatin of a January release window. Stories Untold is the brainchild of developer Jon McKellan, who is perhaps best known for his work helping to create the retro aesthetic of Alien: Isolation....

Steam users and those with a PS4 or Xbox One can, for a limited time, download and keep Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition features the main roster as well as an additional six characters, over 30 skins, and 60 S.T.A.R. Labs missions. Injustice was first released on last-gen consoles in spring 2013. The Ultimate Edition arrived later that year in November just in time for the launch of PS4 and Xbox One....

The Insurgency: Sandstorm free play weekend will run until February 8. Play the game free on Steam now and get it at a 50% discount if you decide you like it and want to purchase it. That means you will pay $14.99 instead of $29.99. At the same time, the game also received two new free weapons available in the latest update. Two new assault rifles hailing from China expand players’ choice of mid-range weaponry even more: the QTS-11 for Security and the QBZ-97 for Insurgents....

The studio dropped a hint about its next project in a reply to an Xbox tweet yesterday. The Xbox account asked “What kind of game should I play next?” to which inXile replied “Pulled NEW + FPS + RPG.” It’s certainly not the most robust tease in the world, but it gives us some insight into what the studio’s first Unreal Engine 5 game will be like. InXile was acquired by Microsoft in 2018 alongside Obsidian, so it’s safe to say the title will be an Xbox console exclusive when it appears....

On the surface, Unpacking may seem quite trite: you move from house to house, unpacking items as you go and organizing them into your new living space. Given this task is so dreary and unfulfilling in real life, it’s amazing to see a game make it such a profoundly moving – and incredibly engaging – experience. And it’s not just us that think so, it seems; last night, Unpacking took home BAFTA’s highly-coveted Best Narrative award (beating out It Takes Two, Life is Strange: True Colors, Returnal, Psychonauts 2, and even Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy)....

The League of Legends developer has revealed its next project is Tellstones: King’s Gambit, an upcoming tabletop game set in the League of Legends universe. Described as a bluffing game for two-to-four players, Tellstones will be a game with “perfect information” - meaning each player will be able to see all the information about what’s happening up front. The game is said to be a “Demacian varient of a game played across Runeterra” - the world of League of Legends - and one of the many tabletop games currently in development from Riot....

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story was one of several series spin-offs announced last year. Like all of the announced projects, Ruined King is being developed by an external partner and published under the company’s Forge label. The game is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch in early 2021. It will also arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X a little bit later, and all owners will be able to upgrade their copy for free....

While it was taken down swiftly, dexterous internet warriors managed to snatch it before it went down, allowing us all to get an early peek at what this new Canadian character can do in tense multiplayer matches. Speaking of, what’s Sojourn’s deal? Well, judging from the video she comes packing a railgun with two distinct firing modes: one that shoots out rapid fire bullets, while the other releases one gigantic blast that deals massive damage all at once....

Sony is offering a new bundle, and it’s a limited edition The Last of Us: Part 2 PS4 Pro. The bundle will launch alongside the game on June 19, and the console features Ellie’s tattoo engraved on the case. Inside the box, you will find a matching DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, a physical copy of the game, and a code to redeem digital content such as a dynamic theme, avatars, and more....

After a bit of a hiatus, BioWare has returned with a new development update from the team currently working on making Anthem fun. While previous updates tackled loot and itemisation, this one is about skills, specialisations, builds and progression. One thing that’s hard to ignore is how similar the new UI is to Destiny’s. This is obviously all work-in-progress, but you can clearly see two columns of weapons and abilities on either side of the screen, with the character render splitting them through the middle....
