Microsoft and Dolby have announced that at launch, both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Dolby Vision will initially be supported through streaming apps, with support for games to follow in 2021. Dolby Atmos, on the other hand, will be there for games and apps that support it on day one. According to the official blog, these technologies will arrive “first on Xbox”, which opens the door to their release on PS5 and other platforms later down the line....
Nagoshi recently spoke to German publication 4Players (translations by VGC), where he provided some light details about his next game, a new IP from Nagoshi Studio at NetEase. While he wasn’t able to provide any concrete details, he did talk about how he doesn’t want to move too far away from his roots. “Of course, I can’t reveal too much about our game yet, but I can give a rough idea: It will definitely contain violence as a game element, but I don’t want to go too much in the direction of thriller or even horror,” Nagoshi said....
Nagoshi – who worked as executive director on Yakuza: Like a Dragon – has been a key part of the Yakuza franchise since it first launched back in 2005, and he’s been with Sega since the mid-90s arcade days, too. Nagoshi’s new role (which will formally begin on April 1, 2021) was revealed in an announcement that also confirmed that the company will be making some more wide-reaching changes in the coming year....
After the impressive news that the chaotic TV gameshow inspired Fall Guys managed to sell over 10 million copies on Steam earlier this week, developer Mediatonic is celebrating in its own special way. Not content with collaborations with iconic characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and Godzilla, Mediatonic has teamed up with House House in order to add a skin inspired by Untitled Goose Game to Fall Guys. The latest Fall Guys update adds a brilliant new goose outfit which split into two parts; the upper and lower half (which is standard in the game)....

Back at the start of September, Nintendo dropped a surprise announcement and revealed a new Legend of Zelda game called Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game sees you play as a series of Zelda heroes in the lead up to the Great Calamity. Publisher Koei Tecmo showed off a new video of the game in action during a Tokyo Game Show 2020 broadcast that featured the younger version of the loyal protector of Princess Zelda....
If you want to play Hitman 2’s levels in the upcoming Hitman 3, you will have to buy the Hitman 3 Access Pass. That’s according to a post on developer IO Interactive’s website, which says that because Hitman 2 was never released on the Epic Games Store, you have to buy this extra content again. There’s an 80% discount on the Hitman 3 Access Pass that will be running for 14 days after the game is released on January 20....
The report from 2014 said that trusted sources close to Naughty Dog stated Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us creative leads Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley. A couple of days later, the report was refuted by Naughty Dog. According to Mitch Dyer, who previously worked for IGN and wrote the article in question, states he was forced by the site’s editors at the time (Steve Butts and Tal Blevins) to include “forced gossip” in the report....
Infinity Ward has announced that it has now banned over 70,000 cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone. This is up from 50,000 banned earlier this month. “We’re continuing to deploy dedicated security updates and work continues on improving in-game reporting,” the developer wrote, adding that more details on the updated reporting tools will be revealed soon. The news comes as the number of public encounters with cheaters increases. Not a day goes by on the game’s official subreddit, for instance, without multiple posts showing blatant hackers, with some calling for console-only cross-play....
Four versions of the controller are available, differing only by how much they resemble the look of the classic SNES controller. The two standouts are the very traditional US design with purple and violet buttons or one that adds a splash of colour to create the EU version. The other two boast a familiar retro look, though offer a more original design. In terms of features, they’ve all got a pair of analog sticks to support modern games, vibration and motion controls....
This is according to former Giantbomb host Jeff Gerstmann who reports having seen some of the game. According to Gerstmann, the title is currently in testing and development is going well enough to where it might be shown during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on Sunday (thanks, Eurogamer). The game is said to feature a “Steve-like” character that will direct others in battles against Minecraft enemies. It plays in third-person view, and will have a “story and cut-scenes, and all this other stuff....

After players noticed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was missing an achievements page on the newly-launched Ubisoft Connect – and Watch Dogs Legion wasn’t – some curious users asked Ubisoft why the former seemed to be singled out. Over on the Ubisoft forum, a Ubisoft support spokesperson mentioned that the game missing achievements “was unintended”, and that the publisher was “actively working to enable achievements”.
