Capcom has announced the next Monster Hunter Digital Event, coming next week. The event’s focus will be on Monster Hunter Rise, as well as Monster Hunter Stories 2. The livestream will kick off 7am PT, 10am ET, 3pm UK on Tuesday, April 27. Capcom revealed that the show will bring us more details about Rise’s major 2.0 update, which introduces new monsters Chameleos, and Apex Rathalos. As previously revealed, this title update will also unlock Hunter Rank....

The Fanged-Beast monster spits and freezes its own arms to become deadly icicle-blades and rip you to shreds. Christian Dailey, executive director of Dragon Age 4, has published another piece of concept art that gives us a bit more insight into what we can expect from BioWare’s upcoming Dragon Age 4. Dailey was prompted to post the image after creative director Matthew Goldman suggested the studio show something to fans to tide them over whilst they wait for more news. “Meet me in Minrathous!” Goldman said in a quote RT of the image below....

While Cyberpunk 2077 is only getting a single piece of DLC, set to launch next year, it comes with some amount of good news: the voice of Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Idris Elba, is joining the cast as Solomon Reed, “an FIA Agent for the New United States of America.” He’ll be helping you in the spy-thriller-themed expansion that’s coming to Night City, but the finer details haven’t been laid out just yet....

Multiverse patch 1.02 is here, and has some pretty big changes for the game, the biggest being the hitbox/ hurtbox overhaul. Before the update, character’s hurtboxes were just a single, bean-like shape, more of a one-size-fits-all kind of situation. Now though, hurtboxes wrap around each character individually, which should make the action a bit tighter. The latest update also brings in a brand-new character, Gizmo, the kind-hearted Mogwai from the best Christmas movie around, Gremlins....

This change is a hard limit to the number of times you can use the same move in a combo, an effort to clamp down on “infinites”. These refer to combos that can — in theory — go on forever, unless the opposing player falls away from the blows or the attacking player suffers from a moment of input error. While current anti-infinite systems are in place, which drastically lowers the damage of repeated moves in the same combo, a hard combo breaker would drastically affect the ability to perform extended attack strings....

This was first discovered by Twitter user Nigel Woodall, a reputable input lag tester - who posted their discoveries online. The most crucial for players is an average input lag delay of 31.47 milliseconds on the PS5, which is less than two frames of delay at 60 FPS. Okay, so what does this actually mean? Well, in the simplest terms, it means that when you press a button on the PS5 while mashing away at MultiVersus, your move comes out fast....

Sony announced both games for PlayStation Plus members today. Each will be made available for download starting October 6. Meanwhile, you still have time to download and play PUBG and Street Fighter 5, which are September’s free games. Both are playable through the service until October 5.

There have been rumours about a Mass Effect remaster floating around for a while, with The Art of Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition book rumoured to coincide with a release date of March 23, 2021. Leaker Nibellion revealed today that a Portuguese website called Gaming Replay has a new listing and title for the trilogy, calling it Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered. It’ll be available for PS4, Xbox One and, surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch....

I suspect some of the readers of VG247 may not have even been alive when these games first released, but they’re basically the ultimate in arcade sports, alongside NBA Jam (which happens to have been headed up by some of the same development staff). One of the Xbox Series X’s biggest advantages is the Smart Delivery service, a platform feature that ensures players buy one copy of the game to own it on any Xbox console they have now and in the future. Many expected Sony to have a similar scheme for PS5, but this may not actually be the plan. Titled New Horizon, the massive free update adds four new Expeditions, a new transmog system, and removes timers from Expeditions, too, letting you earn rewards from your missions no matter how long they take you. “We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability that allows heroes to reach unintended locations,” says a tweet from the official Blizzard customer support account. “We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our next upcoming patch which is set for November 15.” Mei’s Ice Wall is supposed to be used to block enemies from attacking you, protect Mei and her team from an on-coming attack, or otherwise gaining advantage from mobile deployable cover....

The release of these ports is important, in a sense. Persona 4 Golden, originally a Vita definitive edition of all-timer Persona 4, has admittedly made its way to PC before now. But Persona 3 has been trapped either on PSP or PS2, depending on your allegiance, for many years. It’s been old hardware, emulation, or nothing. The Futaba Confidant has one of the steepest stat barriers early in the relationship, so make sure to spend some time leveling up before meeting the computer genius. That said, there are no hard stops for when you have to reach certain ranks in Futaba’s Confidant, since hers isn’t required to get the true ending. As with all Confidants in Persona 5 Royal, you can, and should, boost your relationship with Futaba faster if you include a Persona of the matching Arcana during rank up events, which, for Futaba, is the Hermit Arcana....

Studio Pixel’s rather cute and popular indie game Cave Story+ is free this week on the Epic Games Store. It features an original story full of mystery and fast-paced fun where you will run, jump, shoot, fly, and explore your way through the game. The game is available until December 10. Next week, on December 10, Pillars of Eternity: Definite Edition and Tyranny - Gold Edition will be free to download and keep....

This is not a mistake, Jurkowski is intentionally creating a “pirated” version of their own game, which will be going live on popular torrent sites alongside official stores. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a version of this tactic, Jurkowski isn’t actually trying to make an inferior version of the game for pirates, or even guilt trip them into buying it. Instead, as the developer explained on Twitter, this torrent version of Please Fix the Road will include all of the content available to Steam and GOG owners....
