Billed as a third-person cooperative adventure, SteamWorld Headhunter’s premiere is light on details, but does hint at the gameplay’s direction in the trailer. The short video depicts two robots having a showdown at high noon. When one robot shoots the other and they go to check the body, the head is missing. The final shot is of that same head on four spider-like leg appendages leaping towards the other robot, suggesting that head swapping or hijacking bodies might be a mechanic in the final game....

Rumors of an animated film based on The Witcher surfaced recently and today Netflix confirmed the news. According to the streaming network, the animated film will “take us back to a new threat” facing the Continent. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is being developed by the team who brought us the live-action series - Lauren S. Hissrich and Beau DeMayo - and is being handled by Studio Mir (Legend of Korra)....

The already successful campaign - which so far has over 10 times its initial funding goal - promises a miniatures-centric tabletop game where players work together in a squad to bring down the Nazis of Wolfenstein’s alternate reality. Wolfenstein: The Board Game features 16 map tiles making up the rooms and halls you’ll expore throughout its co-op missions, 182 cards which represent the events, enemy encounters, and equipment, and 55 pre-assembled miniatures - including Wolfenstein’s Mecha-Hitler endboss....

The planet of Atropos in Retrunal features various environments with its own sets of enemies. These include organic and parasitic creatures and even corrupted entities. There are also mechanical automatons and an even greater variety of different foes. Each enemy has its own distinctive personality and its own uniquely identifiable attack patterns. Some enemies will shoot projectiles while some will pull off close-range attacks. One of these is the Titanops which you can see in the video, sporting an arm made of tentacles....

To go alongside the review, I sat down with publishing and marketing director at Tribute Games, Eric Lafontaine, to discuss what the team wanted to achieve going in, recreating the TMNT humour, and bringing the intricacies of the cartoon to a modern platform. Sega has kicked off a free weekend for Total War: Warhammer 2 on Steam. The promotion is available now until Sunday, April 19 at 12pm PT, 3pm ET, 8pm UK. Owners of the original Total War: Warhammer have another reason to look forward to this thanks to the Mortal Empires mega-campaign, which lets you pick from any of the races of both the Old and the New World. Mortal Empires is a free DLC for Warhammer 2, but requires owning both games....

It features hundreds of hours of gameplay full of heroes, monsters, flying creatures, magical storms, and regiments of nightmarish warriors. The game contains various campaigns of conquest and you can play as the Empire, Dwarfs, Vampire Counts or the Orcs and Goblins of the Greenskin tribes. Each Race is wholly different with its own unique characters, campaign mechanics, battlefield units and play style. Alongside the game are a few free add-ons such as Grombrindal The White Dwarf and Isabella von Carstein who will lead their chosen troops....

The character customisation options on offer in Tower of Fantasy are certainly a highlight. You can choose between outfits, transform their colours, and modify your face and hair to your hearts content. That being said, once you leave the safety of starting region Astra, how exactly do you go about changing your appearance and gender or sex in Tower of Fantasy? It’s fortunately very easy, but does come with a small cost....

Two Legendary Coyotes are running around in Red Dead Online this week, and it’s your job to track them down. One is the Legendary Midnight Paw Coyote which can be found somewhere southeast of Strawberry, while the Legendary Red Streak Coyote has been spotted around Pike’s Basin. Harriet wants to know more about the coyotes, so bring some samples back to her for payment and XP for the Naturalist Role....

It’s not completely clear what Midgard Shift Codes will get you, but we have a few ideas based on previous Gearbox freebies. You’ll need to complete a couple of steps before you can enter the first code, though. In terms of information, there’s precious little, but it at least gives us a good idea of what to expect to see coming in future updates. Interestingly, both of these characters come from Liyue rather than the newer archipelago of Inazuma where the most recent storyline takes place. That’s by no means a bad thing as these areas can always do with some more interesting characters populating them, and to be fair we’ll be getting a lot of Inazuma love when the Genshin Impact version 2....

Far Cry 6’s impressive visuals were one of the few things that stood out at the game’s gameplay reveal on Friday. But good graphics can often leave owners of PS4 and Xbox One worried, and they have a damn good reason to. Far Cry 6 is, of course, far from the only big open world game that will be releasing on both console generations. Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch on PS4 and Xbox One still stings for the many who are now being more cautious when getting excited about upcoming games....

Today marks the launch of plenty of new things in Valorant. With the Act 2 patch, not only are players getting a new Battle Pass and new skins, there’s also a new mode to look forward to. Free-for-All Deathmatch is a respawn-enabled, 5v5 mode where everyone gets infinite money, and the only goal is to be the first to reach 30 kills. You won’t be able to use agent abilities in this, and everyone spawns with heavy armour pre-equipped....

Warcraft 3: Reforged, which launched on Tuesday, has landed Blizzard in hot water. The game’s main subreddit and Blizzard’s own forums are full of negative threads, and complaints from players who feel cheated. There are a couple of reasons for this outrage, chief among them being the quality of the finished game compared to what Blizzard showed off at the remaster’s reveal at Blizzcon 2018. Although the final build features sharper art and updated models compared to the original, they do not stack up to the 2018 reveal....
